Our client is a leading mass beauty cosmetic brand seeking a strong VP of Marketing based in LA or OC. On site full time in Ontario, CA
The Vice President of Marketing will be a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for building brand equity, driving consumer engagement, build and lead a high- performing team to deliver innovative marketing strategies that support business growth.
This individual will lead the strategic development of brand identity, consumer engagement, marketing innovation, and digital-first initiatives in the highly competitive beauty space for the brand. The ideal candidate is a results-oriented leader with deep beauty industry knowledge, a passion for storytelling, and a track record of building and scaling modern, customer-centric brands.
This role requires a hands-on, creative, and analytical marketer who can drive both brand equity and commercial performance across DTC, retail, and omnichannel platforms.
Responsibilities & Duties
Brand Strategy & Development
- Define and evolve the company’s brand vision, positioning, and voice to resonate with core consumer segments.
- Oversee the brands’ positioning, creative development, product launches, and
360° campaign execution across all channels – including digital, social, retail, influencer, and traditional- with a focus on Consumer Insights & Innovation
- Maintain consistency of brand identity across digital, print, retail, influencer, and PR channels.
Marketing Leadership
- Create and execute comprehensive and unique marketing strategies that support brand(s) and revenue growth.
- Lead all national and local marketing efforts including product launches, promotions, events, and brand partnerships.
- Align marketing goals with sales and product development to accelerate revenue and category expansion.
Digital & Social Media Oversight
- Direct digital marketing campaigns include SEO, paid media, influencer marketing, email, and CRM.
- Guide content development strategies for web, social media, and owned channels to increase engagement and traffic.
- Optimize performance through analytics, A/B testing, and data-driven insights.
Retail & Channel Marketing
- Develop integrated go-to-market plans for retail partners (Ulta, Target, CVS, Walmart, dollar stores etc.).
- Support sell-in and sell-through strategies with strong merchandising and promotional support.
- Collaborate with sales teams to ensure alignment between marketing and retail execution.
- Monitor consumer trends, competitive activity, and category shifts to guide marketing strategies.
- Leverage data, research, and feedback to create innovative, consumer-led campaigns and brand initiatives.
- Identify whitespace opportunities and contribute to product pipeline planning.
Budgeting & Resource Management
- Own the annual marketing budget, ensuring efficient spending and maximizing ROI across channels.
- Manage external partners including agencies, consultants, and freelancers.
Brand Protection & Reputation
- Act as brand guardian(s), ensuring consistency with brand standards and tone across all platforms.
- Monitor and address to brand sentiment, PR risks, and reputation concerns.
Team Leadership & Development
- Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing team across brand, digital, content, and creative functions.
- Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-energy marketing culture focused on innovation and results.
