Job Description/Duties
The Sales Inspector provides core business support by creating revenue through sales generated:
- By effective marketing of products and services
- Coordination of service account initiation
- Explanation of services to be rendered, including treatment methods
- Perform accurate termite inspections
- Collection of fees for services rendered
- Follow up to ensure customer satisfaction
- Compensation for this position is commission and bonus - unlimited potential
- Commission percentage is derived from a graduated scale based on dollar value of annualized services sold, completed and collected monthly
- The Sales Inspector reports to the Sales Manager
Sales Performance Standards
Daily:
- Do your best, do what’s right and treat others the way you want to be treated
- Exercise diligence in scheduling inspections and sales calls – Work Smart
- Paperwork must be accurately completed and turned in to Sales Manager
- Make follow-up calls on all outstanding proposals
- Cloverleaf all current termite and rodent work
Weekly:
- Wash, vacuum and check tire pressure on assigned fleet vehicle
- Develop relationships by visiting new Realtors and other influencers
Education, Training, and Experience
- The Sales Inspector position requires a 3-5 year successful background in sales, preferably in the pest control industry.
- Expected to self-initiate outside sales training to fine-tune selling skills (i.e. books, tapes, seminars, online courses re: sales)
- A thorough understanding of the dynamics of sales strategies as defined by the Sales Manager.
- All ID cardholders are required to complete minimum state-mandated continuing education annually.
Working Conditions
- The Sales Inspector requires frequent travel within designated service areas.
- Because this outside sales position requires driving a Company vehicle, a clean MVR is required. We are a drug free workplace.
- Inspections may necessitate crawling through attics and sub-floor crawl spaces.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and taste or smell.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include: Close vision
- The ability to use equipment and technology such as ladders, flashlights, drills, PPE and mobile devices. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- The Sales Inspector exercises great discretion in scheduling inspections and sales calls and is only limited to his/her own initiative. Minimum acceptable standards for performance are established by the Sales Manager.
