About the Role
We are looking to hire a Group Director who is passionate about the influencer space, as well as building teams and deepening client relationships - specifically with senior clients. This account & agency leader will be tasked with helping to grow, manage and develop key Retainer and Strategic Project accounts. The goal is ultimately to create and foster long term brand relationships by developing next level, data-driven influencer strategies and business solutions and providing executional oversight for high growth clients. This role demands a strategic mindset to identify new business opportunities, inspire innovation, and contribute to the agency's growth and vision—all while delivering measurable success across every campaign.
What You'll Do
Client Management
- Act as the primary strategic lead for senior-level clients (CMOs, VPs, Directors), building trust, ensuring satisfaction, and strengthening relationships through high-quality work and consistent communication.
- Develop a deep understanding of client business objectives, demonstrating how agency work integrates within the full marketing funnel and proactively generating ideas to enhance brand performance.
- Oversee account financial health and profitability, manage escalations, identify and pursue strategic upsell opportunities, and conduct regular business reviews to drive growth and address challenges.
Financial Management
- Develop and execute financial plans to achieve or exceed revenue targets for managed accounts, including accurate forecasting and strategic resource allocation.
- Actively oversee and manage the financial health and profitability of accounts and projects, monitoring performance against goals and proactively addressing risks or shortfalls.
- Ensure timely client payments by managing billing processes, conducting necessary follow-ups, and collaborating with Directors to finalize payments and optimize future scopes.
- Identify and pursue opportunities for organic business growth within existing accounts while fostering financial discipline and understanding within the team.
Business Grown and Development
- Actively pursue agency growth by expanding service offerings, developing new business proposals, and representing the agency at industry events.
- Maintain expertise in industry trends and emerging technologies, disseminating insights and best practices to both internal teams and clients.
- Contribute to internal capability enhancement through training and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop a large team (10+), focusing on individual career growth, providing clear direction and feedback, identifying skill gaps, and overseeing onboarding.
- Strategically manage team structure and staffing in collaboration with Resourcing/Executives, defining roles, ensuring fair workload distribution, and optimizing resource utilization across accounts.
- Oversee team performance and account health through regular check-ins with direct reports (Account Directors), ensuring deliverables are met, addressing challenges, and communicating status to leadership.
- Cultivate a high-performing team culture centered on collaboration, innovation, and excellence, acting as a key resource and mentor for all team members.
What You'll Need
- Possess 12+ years of senior-level experience in Marketing, Social Media, Media, or Influencer fields, including managing teams (10+), handling multiple large/global accounts, and proven success in client growth.
- Demonstrate deep expertise in the influencer marketing landscape, encompassing platforms, analytics, trends, best practices, and hands-on experience with paid partnerships (celebrity experience is a plus).
- Proven ability in new business development, including experience building strategic pitch decks and working effectively within integrated agency teams (IAT).
