What you’ll do: You’ll work with the Brand Communications Manager to lead strategic planning for social and will have ownership over all day-to-day social media and influencer marketing execution in support of building a strong and positive perception of the Zipcar brand. Job Requirements Contract Duration: June-December 2025 Hours: 20-40 hours/week Location: Hybrid. We’d love this individual to work with us in the Boston office. Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Social Media & Influencer Contractor to join our brand and creative team at Zipcar. This role offers an excellent opportunity to hit the ground running and manage all things social media, end to end. You will lead the management of Zipcar’s social media channels and influencer strategy among other responsibilities. Key Responsibilities: Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:* Develop and execute overall and seasonal social media channel and content strategy across all segments.
- Lead content creation for owned social media channels; working collaboratively with brand and creative team on concepts and execution. This may include filming video at your nearest Zipcar, or coming into the Boston home office and capturing photography needs there.
- Own the day-to-day community management on owned social channels, including posting proactive content; reactively engaging with followers in meaningful and helpful conversation; and seeking opportunities for the brand to engage with consumers via owned social channels in real time
- Manage consumer and university influencer/brand ambassador marketing end-to-end. This includes strategy, identifying partners, contract management, briefing, trip management, content management and reporting.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and execute their owned social media-specific needs, using the right channel and content mix
- Manage relationships with third party vendors (i.e. contact center, social media tool providers)
- Manage social media tools and reporting; evaluate and make recommendations on tools and technology to use
- Stay up to date on social media trends to recommend content that is trending.
- Track and analyze social media metrics to assess performance and suggest improvements.
Qualifications:* 5+ years of marketing experience in social media, community management and influencer marketing
- Proven track record of leading successful social media and influencer campaigns that drove measurable growth in engagement, awareness, joins, etc.
- Experience managing influencers and content creators
- Excellent copywriting, communication, and organizational skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask and manage deadlines while producing high quality work.
- Strong understanding of platform algorithms, content trends, and emerging tools — with the ability to forecast shifts and adapt strategies accordingly.
- Experience with a brand using social media for member/customer service a plus
- Exceptional communicator, both written and oral; ability to build strong relationships cross-functionally in order to influence, and gain support, input and approvals
- Understanding of key social media metrics and KPIs, and best way to measure them
- Strong project management skills and strengths in managing multiple projects/deadlines; ability to set priorities and be flexible in changing environments
- Interest and/or experience in content creation, photography, and/or graphic design is a plus.
