JOB SUMMARY:

The Marketing Manager is responsible for the strategic leadership of the Marketing department as it relates to Advertising, Media Buys, Digital Marketing, Production, Creative, Database Marketing, Sponsorships, Public Relations and Guest Services while developing brand strategy based on targeted guests and designing the comprehensive guest experience. This position will direct the improvement of revenue through management of the marketing plan, while maintaining attention to guest service and satisfaction. The Marketing Manager will aide in developing strategic goals and translates them into tactical plans, as well as provides leadership to ensure goals and expectations by the property are attained.

 

This position provides oversight to ensure all marketing efforts are in accordance with regulatory requirements and overall business objectives, ensure campaigns are aligned with brand standards and ensure campaigns are designed within budget guidelines and the strategic plan for the property.   

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Assists in overall strategic marketing direction for the "racino" including all advertising, database marketing, digital/email marketing, public relations and guest service
  • Manages effectiveness of marketing initiatives; identifies short-term and long-term goals, measuring (ROI) for all marketing programs
  • Provides input, direction, and execution of strategic plans, operating budgets, and service standards to capture incremental revenue and EBITDA
  • Directs the budget management for assigned responsibilities
  • Ensures budget is complete, accurate and in line with property goals
  • Provides strategic insight, direction, and oversight to assigned areas of responsibilities to ensure a successful and continuous operation
  • Develops marketing strategic plans and assists with property plans / operational recommendations that are consistent with the strategic vision of Eldorado Gaming Scioto Downs
  • Conducts competitor research and analysis for operations to ensure positioning alignment in the diverse and ever-evolving market
  • Develops short and long-range operations objectives
  • Monitors, documents, and notifies the Director of Marketing of any problems that may impact or jeopardize the achievement of current and future objectives
  • Ensure team delivers effective on-property activation (e.g., signage, marquees)
  • Develop annual marketing strategy in collaboration with the department director and Marketing Operation Manager for shared services support and to ensure alignment with marketing activities
  • Monitors existing business operations and communicates with property leaders to share best demonstrated practices for marketing, guest service, and operations
  • Demonstrates a working knowledge of the marketing industry. Stays abreast of new technologies and cutting edge trends significant to gaming operations. Targets and researches relevant technology / 3rd parties to improve operations, guest service, and marketing efficiencies
  • Researches and analyzes existing data and trends and takes action to reduce costs and increase revenues whenever possible
  • Regularly reviews and recommends changes/revisions, where necessary, to internal controls that relate to the Marketing department. Regularly evaluates all Marketing department policies and procedures for effectiveness and possible areas of improvement or efficiencies
  • Select, train, develop, organize and motivate a highly qualified and effective team, capable of providing optimum staff support for the organization. The development includes technical abilities as well as leadership and interpersonal skills. Maintains high morale through support, appreciation and development of Team Members
  • Other duties as assigned

 

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities
  • Experience with marketing tactics
  • Good communication skills
  • Experience handling marketing budgets and forecasting and reporting results
  • Must be able to stand/walk/ sit for extended periods
  • May be exposed to working in a noisy, smoke/secondary smoke environment
  • Must be at least 21
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain appropriate licensing
  • Must be able to pass a background investigation

 

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Four (4) year degree in marketing, business, or an equivalent field or equivalent combination of education and experience required
  • Five plus (5+) years of experience in marketing preferred
