Your role as Head, Influencer Marketing
You will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive influencer strategy that amplifies the San Diego Padres brand locally and around the world. You will oversee the identification, outreach, hosting, and relationship management of key influencers and content creators who can authentically share their positive experiences at America’s #1 Ballpark while serving as advocates for the Padres and our special events business across social and digital platforms. This role requires close collaboration with internal departments, senior leadership, our baseball players, and external partners.
All the responsibilities we will trust you with:
- Develop and lead the Padres’ influencer marketing strategy, aligning with broader Padres brand, fan engagement, special events and marketing goals
- Identify, recruit, and manage relationships with local, national, and global influencers across multiple content platforms
- Oversee the outreach, onboarding, and hosting of influencers at Petco Park, ensuring a premium and high touch ballpark experience
- Coordinate influencer visits, including game attendance, behind-the-scenes access, special events, and curated experiences
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Communications, Social Media, Community Relations, Finest Collective, Baseball Operations, and Ballpark Operations departments
- Work collaboratively with players and baseball operations staff to facilitate influencer and player meet-and-greet opportunities when appropriate
- Serve as a primary Padres point of contact for influencers and content creators, building and maintaining professional, long-term relationships
- Track, analyze, and report on influencer campaign performance and ROI, providing insights and recommendations
- Ensure all influencer partnerships comply with MLB policies, legal guidelines, and Padres brand standards
- Manage influencer-related budgets, contractual obligations, and deliverables
- Represent the Padres brand with professionalism when interfacing with senior leadership, partners, and external stakeholders
- Other duties and special projects as assigned
Your areas of knowledge and expertise that matter most:
- Possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and effectively work well with others in a collaborative, respectful manner
- Proven ability to build relationships and work effectively across departments
- Strong time management and organizational skills with capacity to handle high volumes of detailed work, multi-task and manage projects on strict deadlines
- Comfortable interfacing with senior leadership and high-profile talent
- Deep understanding of social media platforms, YouTube, influencer trends, and digital storytelling
- Strategic thinker with strong attention to detail and execution
- Maintain professional demeanor with a high degree of discretion, integrity, and accountability
You will be required to meet the following:
- Must be at least 18 years of age by the start of employment
- 4-year Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Marketing, Advertising, Communications or closely related field
- Minimum five (5) years previous experience in influencer marketing, brand marketing, entertainment marketing or closely related field
- Experience working in sports, entertainment, or lifestyle brands a plus
- Strong knowledge of the San Diego market and existing relationships with San Diego-based influencers strongly preferred
- Fluently bilingual in English/Spanish a plus
- Able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, holidays and extended hours as required by the baseball schedule
- Able to travel as needed
- Minimum physical requirements: able to travel to and gain access to various areas of the ballpark for prolonged periods of time during games and events; able to lift and transport up to 25 pounds
- As a condition of employment, you must successfully complete all post-offer, pre-employment requirements, including but not limited to a background check
Salary and additional compensation:
Per the California pay transparency law, the base salary range for this full-time position is $100,000 to $140,000. As a candidate for this position, your salary and related elements of compensation will be contingent upon your work experience, education, job-related skills and any other factors the San Diego Padres considers relevant to the hiring decision for this position.
