Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Communication Intern to join our team and help amplify our organization’s voice across multiple platforms. In this role, you will support the development and execution of communication strategies that engage audiences, promote initiatives, and enhance our public image.

This paid internship offers hands-on experience in media relations, content creation, public relations, podcast development, YouTube content creation, and social media management, while strengthening your writing and editing skills. You will work closely with our communications team to craft compelling messages, manage digital platforms, and assist with content production in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in drafting press releases, media advisories, and other public-facing materials using AP style guidelines to ensure clarity and consistency
  • Support the planning and execution of media outreach efforts to build relationships with journalists, bloggers, and influencers
  • Manage and contribute to social media platforms by creating engaging content, scheduling posts, and monitoring audience engagement
  • Assist with podcast development, including topic research, episode planning, scripting, recording coordination, and promotion
  • Support YouTube channel development by helping plan, film, edit, and publish video content aligned with the organization’s brand
  • Conduct research on industry trends, competitors, and target audiences to inform communication strategies
  • Proofread and edit internal and external communications for accuracy, tone, and grammar
  • Help organize events, press conferences, and community outreach activities
  • Assist in creating multimedia content such as videos, graphics, and digital campaigns to enhance storytelling efforts
  • Collaborate with team members to develop messaging that aligns with organizational goals and brand voice

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a degree program in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field
  • Strong writing skills with the ability to adapt tone for different audiences
  • Familiarity with AP style guidelines
  • Experience with social media management, podcasting, or video content creation (YouTube or similar platforms) preferred
  • Basic skills in video editing, audio editing, or content production are a plus
  • Excellent research, proofreading, and organizational skills
  • Strong verbal communication skills suitable for media interactions or public-facing content
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
