About the job
About the Role:
Quantica Infrastructure is seeking a strategic, proactive Public Relations and Strategic Communications and external affairs professional to shape and execute our external narrative and stakeholder engagement during a high-growth phase. You will drive visibility, thought leadership, stakeholder trust, and policy influence across media, communities, industry partners, government entities, and the public. This role combines hands-on execution with strategic planning in a fast-moving sector at the intersection of renewable energy, large-scale infrastructure, and regulatory/policy landscapes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and drive the overall Communications and External Affairs Strategy — Create and implement comprehensive plans aligned with business objectives, integrating messaging frameworks, storytelling around sustainable digital infrastructure, clean energy transition, community impact, and policy/regulatory advocacy.
- Work through OKRs for PR/Communications & External Affairs — Establish, track, and report on measurable Objectives and Key Results (e.g., media coverage volume/quality, share of voice, stakeholder sentiment, community engagement metrics, policy wins/influence tracking) to demonstrate ROI and refine approaches.
- Manage external PR resources/consultants and lobbyists/government affairs partners — Oversee agency partners, freelance writers, media trainers, crisis consultants, contract lobbyists, and government relations firms; manage budgets, scopes, deliverables, performance, and coordination on regulatory/policy matters.
- Proactively engage media, stakeholders, and policymakers — Pitch stories, secure placements, build relationships with national/business/tech/energy journalists, industry analysts, trade publications, influencers, local/state/federal officials, and regulatory bodies.
- Serve as Company Spokesperson — Act as primary or secondary spokesperson in interviews, press statements, public engagements, and select regulatory hearings/testimony; prepare executives (including CEO) for media, community, and policy interactions.
- Provide and coordinate interviews — Secure and prep executive interviews, op-eds, podcasts, speaking opportunities, and policy briefings; draft talking points and ensure consistent messaging across channels.
- Act as primary Media Contact — Handle inbound journalist requests, press inquiries, fact-checks, and embargoed materials with speed and accuracy.
- Lead Community Outreach and Education — Build positive relationships in development regions (e.g., Montana and future sites) through local media, town halls, educational sessions on digital economy benefits, job creation, renewable energy, sustainable infrastructure, and address concerns transparently.
- Support and Coordinate Lobbyist/Government Relations Interactions — Collaborate closely with external lobbyists, contract government affairs consultants, and internal regulatory/development teams to support permitting, incentives, zoning, environmental approvals, and policy advocacy at state/local/federal levels; monitor legislative/regulatory developments impacting infrastructure/energy projects; draft/align public statements, briefing materials, and advocacy communications on key issues (e.g., clean energy incentives, data center regulations, grid interconnection policies).
- Manage Social Media — Oversee Quantica's corporate social channels (LinkedIn primary, X/Twitter, others as relevant); develop content calendars, post thought-leadership updates, project announcements, industry insights, community-focused stories, and policy/regulatory updates to grow engagement and followers.
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of progressive experience in public relations, corporate communications, external affairs, or government relations — ideally with B2B focus in energy, infrastructure, technology, data centers, renewables, hyperscale/AI, or regulated industries.
- Proven track record of driving proactive media coverage, managing spokespeople, executing integrated comms strategies, and supporting or coordinating advocacy/lobbying efforts in high-stakes or emerging sectors.
- Experience working with external PR agencies, lobbyists, government relations consultants, and managing budgets effectively.
- Strong understanding of OKR frameworks or similar goal-setting/measurement systems in comms/external affairs.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; confident public speaker comfortable serving as a company spokesperson and engaging policymakers/stakeholders.
- Ability to translate complex technical/regulatory topics (power infrastructure, renewables, data center development, AI workloads, permitting processes, policy incentives) into compelling, accessible narratives.
- Experience in community/stakeholder engagement and government/policy advocacy, especially in energy/infrastructure project contexts (e.g., state/local permitting, incentives, regulatory navigation), is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with legislative/regulatory tracking, media monitoring tools (e.g., Meltwater, Cision), social media management, and analytics.
- Bachelor's degree in communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Public Policy, Political Science, Marketing, or related field; advanced degree or relevant certifications.
What We Offer:
- Opportunity to shape the public voice and policy influence of a high-growth company at the forefront of powering America's AI and digital future with sustainable infrastructure.
- Competitive compensation, equity participation, and benefits package.
- Collaborative environment with experienced leadership from energy, data center, and network sectors.
- Impactful work balancing commercial growth with clean energy advancement, community benefits, and effective regulatory/policy navigation.
