Job Overview:

The Director or Senior Director of Social Media is responsible for developing and implementing effective strategies to enhance the organization's public image, manage its reputation, and build strong relationships with key stakeholders. This role will manage the social media and influencer marketing team, managing social media campaigns, analyzing metrics, and staying up to date with industry trends. Additionally, this role oversees all public relations campaigns, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to align PR efforts with broader organizational goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive social media strategy that aligns with the organization's goals and objectives. Identify target audiences and create content plans to increase engagement, followers and brand awareness.
  • Lead and manage the social media and influencer marketing team; set clear objectives, provide guidance, foster collaboration and career growth, and evaluate team performance.
  • Maintain brand consistency across all social media platforms and ensure messaging aligns with the organization's brand identity.
  • Stay on the pulse of emerging social media trends, technologies, and best practices.
  • Oversee direction and strategy for PR and influencer related events and activations.
  • Monitor efforts of PR teams to cultivate media relationships, and partnerships with like-minded brands and licensing deals.
  • Utilize analytics tools to track, measure, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics. Analyze data and provide regular reports to senior management, highlighting key performance indicators and recommendations for improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, public relations, communications, journalism, or a related field
  • 6+ years in social media and influencer marketing, preferably with progressive experience from hands-on to leadership role.
  • Experience in the apparel/fashion industry.
  • Strong understanding of public relations strategies, techniques, and best practices is preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong networking and relationship-building abilities.
  • Knowledge of industry regulations and ethical standards.
