Dover Publications offers an engaging summer internship program that provides learning, mentorship, networking, and meaningful work experience for those interested in a publishing career, with an emphasis on expanding diversity and inclusion. This year we are looking for Digital Marketing, Print Production, and Editorial Interns.

Timeline, compensation, and location

  • Summer Internship—10 weeks, beginning in June and ending mid-August
  • Monday to Thursday
  • Six hours per day
  • $16.00 per hour
  • Remote position (A consistent schedule of weekly hours is expected with the ability to attend regular online meetings.)

Your experience

How you will make a difference

As our Marketing Intern, you will assist the Digital Marketing Manager with tasks, including:

  • Support the social media process by assisting with strategic planning, producing and scheduling engaging content, and compiling performance analytics to help track success
  • Support influencer marketing strategy by identifying and vetting potential partners within the adult coloring, romance, and parenting communities
  • Contribute to Amazon product page merchandising by developing designs for A+ content and Brand Storefronts
  • Create promotional videos and other assets to be used across multiple platforms
  • Organize a digital asset library for organizational use
  • Contribute to a refreshed direct-to-consumer site
  • Attend meetings and contribute ideas
  • Work in collaboration with team members across marketing, design, editorial, sales, and operations teams

Qualifications

  • Familiarity with social media platforms and social media trends
  • Experience with graphic design and video creation tools (Canva, Photoshop, etc.)
  • Knowledge of Google Workspace, Microsoft Word, MS Excel, video editing software, and design tools

How you will make a difference

As our Editorial Intern, you will support our acquisitions and publishing program and assist the Editorial staff with tasks, including:

  • Help build and coordinate our editorial library
  • Lead creative asset-gathering and organization of projects
  • Review editorial submissions
  • Maintain editorial databases
  • Assist in book-concept generation
  • Gain exposure to all stages of the book-development process
  • Attend meetings and contribute ideas
  • Collaborate with team members across marketing, design, editorial, sales, and operations teams

Qualifications

  • Interest/background in design and illustration a plus
  • Knowledge of Google Workspace, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Adobe Suite

How you will make a difference

As our Print Production Intern, you will support our Production team and assist the Production Manager with tasks, including:

  • Enter print job specification information in the pricing template and build printing scenarios
  • Enter Purchase Orders into the system
  • Track open purchase orders and follow up with vendors on late deliveries
  • Gain exposure to all stages of the book development process
  • Maintain blank dummy library of samples received

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Previous experience in data-entry
