The Cancer Foundation (TCF) is seeking a strategic, high-energy, and results-oriented Corporate Giving Officer to lead the expansion of our corporate philanthropy program. As TCF enters a significant growth phase, this role is critical to scaling our capacity to serve cancer patients across 25 counties in Northeast Georgia. The Cancer Foundation is at a pivotal moment of growth. As we expand our programmatic reach across Northeast Georgia, we are building a sustainable, scalable fundraising operation to meet the growing need for our services. Corporate philanthropy is central to this growth strategy, with a clear intention to evolve it from an emerging program into a major, mature revenue stream. The Corporate Giving Officer is not a "support" role; it is a revenue-generating position tasked with owning the corporate fundraising lifecycle, from initial prospecting and pitch development to closing high-four and five-figure sponsorships. This individual will transform an emerging program into a mature revenue stream by building a robust pipeline of Northeast Georgia, regional, and national business partners committed to alleviating the financial burden of cancer.About The Cancer Foundation

The Cancer Foundation is a nonprofit organization based in Athens, Georgia, with a mission to alleviate the financial burden of cancer. The Cancer Foundation addresses the critical social drivers of health that often derail a patient’s treatment and recovery. We provide a bridge for individuals in Northeast Georgia undergoing cancer treatment through two core initiatives:* Financial Assistance Program: Direct support for essential living expenses (rent, utilities, etc.).

  • Nutritional Assistance Program: Access to healthy food via an on-site pantry and a specialized mobile pantry program.

Serving a 25-county region, TCF is currently scaling its operations to meet the increasing demand for services. We are moving from a local provider to a regional powerhouse in patient support, and corporate partnerships are the engine for this expansion.Core Responsibilities

Corporate Fundraising* Build, qualify, and manage a portfolio of corporate donors and prospects to achieve annual revenue targets (first year is $350,000**)**, prioritizing gifts and sponsorships in the $5,000 to $10,000+ range.

  • Secure corporate philanthropic gifts, sponsorships, and multi-faceted partnerships that advance annual revenue goals.
  • Actively identify and cultivate new corporate prospects across Northeast Georgia, leveraging networks such as chambers of commerce, industry associations, and civic groups.
  • Create persuasive, customized proposals and partnership opportunities aligned with the Foundation’s mission, service area, and programmatic impact, organizational priorities, and community impact.
  • Manage a disciplined corporate fundraising pipeline with clear next steps, timelines, and revenue projections.

Partnership Development* Develop long-term strategic partnerships with companies across healthcare, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, professional services, financial services, and other regional industries.

  • Develop and execute individualized cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies that align a corporation’s CSR goals with the foundation’s programmatic impact.
  • Cultivate relationships with business owners, executives, corporate social responsibility leaders, and community influencers.
  • Position The Cancer Foundation as a strong community investment partner for businesses seeking meaningful local impact.

Corporate Prospecting* Identify and research new corporate prospects across the Foundation’s 25-county service area and among regional or national companies with Northeast Georgia connections.

  • Build relationships with chambers of commerce, civic organizations, business leaders, and community networks to expand the corporate pipeline.
  • Regularly represent The Cancer Foundation at business, civic, and community events to generate visibility and cultivate prospective partners.
  • Monitor local and regional business activity to identify new partnership opportunities.

Sponsorships* Lead the solicitation of corporate sponsorships for all organizational events and fundraising campaigns, managing the full cycle from prospect identification to fulfillment.

  • Design and manage sponsorship recognition packages that are competitive, mission-aligned, revenue-focused, and ensure all partners receive high-touch stewardship and promised visibility.
  • Negotiate sponsorship commitments and ensure clear documentation of deliverables.

Cause Marketing and Campaigns* Identify and launch cause-marketing and co-branded partnership initiatives that generate new revenue streams, increase community engagement, and increase visibility for both the organization and its corporate partners.

  • Build corporate fundraising campaigns tied to awareness months, in-store promotions, point-of-sale campaigns, and mission-driven business initiatives.
  • Evaluate partnership performance and recommend opportunities for renewal or expansion.

Employee Engagement & Corporate Volunteering* Develop and grow corporate engagement opportunities, including volunteer projects, corporate service days, and workplace giving campaigns, that deepen relationships and increase giving.

  • Work with internal staff to ensure volunteer and engagement activities are mission-centered, well-coordinated, and aligned with program capacity.
  • Collaborate with corporate partners to launch and support employee giving campaigns, providing the necessary materials and stewardship to maximize participation and impact.

Stewardship and Donor Management* Develop and implement stewardship strategies that strengthen retention, increase giving over time, create visible value for corporate partners, and reinforce the value of their investment.

  • Provide timely communication, recognition, impact reporting, and engagement opportunities for sponsors and donors.
  • Maintain strong relationships after the initial gift or sponsorship to encourage renewals, upgrades, and multi-year commitments.
  • Ensure each partner understands the direct community impact of its support.

CRM, & Data Management* Maintain accurate and current records of corporate outreach, meetings, proposals, gifts, sponsorships, and stewardship activities in the CRM.

  • Manage corporate pipeline tracking, opportunity stages, and follow-up systems with consistency and accuracy.
  • Produce regular reports on pipeline health, revenue progress, portfolio movement, and corporate engagement activity.
  • Collaborate with leadership on forecasting corporate revenue and identifying strategy adjustments needed to meet goals.

Internal Collaboration* Work closely with the Director of Development to align corporate giving strategy with the organization’s overall fundraising plan.

  • Partner with the Executive Director on key relationship-building opportunities, high-level solicitations, and strategic external visibility.
  • Coordinate with the Institutional Giving Officer to ensure alignment across fundraising strategies and avoid duplication in external outreach.
  • Collaborate with program staff to translate program outcomes, client impact, and organizational needs into compelling partner-facing messages and reports.
  • Contribute to a lean, growth-oriented development team by combining strong individual ownership with effective cross-functional collaboration.

Portfolio Expectations

This role is structured for a growing nonprofit with annual revenue goals that require both disciplined relationship management and new business development. Success is measured not just by the volume of contacts, but by the depth of engagement and the conversion of prospects into multi-year partners.

In the first 12 months, the Corporate Giving Officer will be expected to:* Build and manage a portfolio of approximately 75 to 150 corporate donors and prospects, with active qualification and tiering based on capacity, relationship stage, and strategic fit.

  • Prioritize companies capable of $5,000 to $9,999 gifts and $10,000+ sponsorships or philanthropic commitments.
  • Achieve a first-year corporate revenue target of $350,000 through a mix of sponsorships, corporate gifts, cause marketing partnerships, and employee engagement-related giving.
  • Develop a balanced pipeline that includes near-term revenue opportunities and longer-term strategic partnerships.
  • Establish a strong foundation for future growth in corporate philanthropy over the next three to five years.

Qualifications & Competencies

Required:* Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.

  • 3–5 years of proven experience in fundraising, sales, business development, or account management, with a demonstrable track record of securing sponsorships, gifts, or contracts.
  • Demonstrated success in securing sponsorships, corporate partnerships, or revenue-generating business relationships.
  • Exceptional relationship-building and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire a diverse range of corporate stakeholders.
  • Exceptional persuasive writing and public speaking skills; ability to "sell" a mission with clinical and emotional resonance.
  • Comfort using a CRM or donor database to track activity, manage pipeline movement, and report on outcomes.
  • Ability to travel locally across the 25-county Northeast Georgia service area.

Preferred:* Nonprofit development experience, particularly in major gifts, corporate giving, or sponsorship fundraising.

  • Direct experience working with Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) teams, ESG frameworks, community relations departments, business philanthropy programs, and cause marketing principles.
  • Knowledge of the Northeast Georgia business landscape and philanthropic community.
  • Knowledge of healthcare, cancer-related services, or other mission-driven human services environments.

Work Environment & Benefits

This is a community-facing, partnership-focused role. While the position is primarily on-site in Athens, Georgia, it requires frequent local travel to meet partners in their offices or at community events.* Office Hours: Mon–Thu, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM; Fri, 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM.

  • Balance: TCF prioritizes staff well-being and a healthy work-life balance; occasional evening/weekend work is required for special events, but flex-time is encouraged.
  • Representation: The Officer represents TCF in business settings; however, official media and organizational statements are managed by the Executive Director.
