Overview of the Role

This role leads the strategy, development, and execution of a global social media presence for a major consumer travel brand. The position is highly visible and plays a critical role in shaping brand reputation, driving engagement, and contributing to business performance. The role partners closely with marketing leadership, cross-functional teams, and external agencies to ensure social media channels are strategic, cohesive, and innovative.

The Basics

Duration: 4 months

Hours per week: Full-time, approximately 40 hours per week

Location requirements: Hybrid

 

Top 3 Required Qualifications

  1. 6+ years of experience leading social media strategy for large consumer brands within complex, matrixed organizations
  2. Deep expertise across major and emerging social media platforms, including content strategy, community management, analytics, and reporting, with hands-on experience using enterprise tools such as Sprinklr
  3. Proven ability to partner with senior stakeholders, lead agency relationships, and translate marketing objectives into measurable social media outcomes tied to brand performance and revenue

Other Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field
  • Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and executive-level communication skills
  • Experience managing budgets, resources, and ROI analysis for social media initiatives
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Demonstrated leadership, professionalism, time management, and ability to collaborate effectively across teams
  • Strong understanding of workplace policies, health, safety, environmental, and security practices

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive social media strategy aligned with marketing and business objectives
  • Lead social media planning and execution across platforms, including content, campaigns, community management, and influencer and creator engagement
  • Define and oversee platform-specific content strategies leveraging destinations, products, onboard experiences, team members, and promotional offers
  • Collaborate closely with marketing, brand, media, communications, operations, customer service, and other internal teams to ensure alignment and consistency
  • Partner with internal and external agency teams to execute social media initiatives efficiently and at scale
  • Establish, maintain, and enforce social media policies and governance to ensure brand consistency and legal and ethical compliance
  • Oversee the social media content calendar to balance brand storytelling, engagement, and stakeholder priorities
  • Stay current on social media trends, platforms, and best practices to drive ongoing innovation
  • Lead and evolve community management efforts to build advocacy and strengthen customer relationships
  • Analyze social media performance and business impact, including influence on bookings and revenue, and present insights to senior leadership through regular reporting and dashboards
  • Manage social media budgets, resource allocation, expense monitoring, and ROI tracking
  • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and compliance, and perform other duties as assigned
