Afro Eatery Marketer Job Description
Afro Eatery is looking for a smart, creative, and result driven marketer to increase brand awareness, attract customers, promote events, and drive sales for the restaurant and lounge. The marketer will be responsible for creating strong visibility for Afro Eatery both online and offline, ensuring that the business remains active, appealing, and competitive in the Houston market.
The role is focused on bringing real business results. This includes increasing dine in traffic, improving weekday and weekend turnout, pushing special offers, promoting food and drinks, growing social media presence, increasing reservations and bookings, and helping establish Afro Eatery as a premium Afro fusion restaurant and lounge.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
The marketer will create and manage weekly marketing plans for the restaurant. This includes promoting food specials, happy hour offers, nightlife events, brunch events, hookah specials, themed nights, live entertainment, and any other promotional activities.
The marketer will manage Afro Eatery’s online presence across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Google Business Profile, and other relevant platforms. They will post engaging content consistently and ensure the restaurant stays visible to current and potential customers.
The marketer will work closely with management to create campaigns that increase customer traffic and sales. They will promote the brand through videos, pictures, reels, stories, captions, paid ads, influencer outreach, local partnerships, and community engagement.
The marketer will identify target audiences around the Houston area and develop ways to attract them to Afro Eatery. This includes professionals, nightlife customers, brunch customers, food lovers, African community groups, birthday groups, and local event goers.
The marketer will help organize and promote special nights, private events, birthdays, group bookings, and collaborations with DJs, hosts, promoters, and influencers.
The marketer will also monitor customer engagement, social media growth, campaign results, and general brand visibility, then provide updates to management on what is working and what needs improvement.
Specific Tasks
Create flyers, captions, and promotional content for daily or weekly offers
Promote Afro Eatery events and nightlife activities
Take or coordinate quality pictures and videos of food, drinks, hookah, customers, and atmosphere
Run Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook promotions
Increase followers, engagement, and brand awareness
Respond to comments, messages, and customer inquiries professionally when required
Build relationships with influencers, food bloggers, DJs, and local promoters
Promote birthdays, reservations, group bookings, and special celebrations
Support in improving Google reviews, online reputation, and visibility
Help with street level promotion, local business outreach, and partnership opportunities where necessary
Track campaign performance and customer response
Recommend fresh ideas to keep the restaurant attractive and competitive
Performance Expectations
The marketer must be able to show measurable value to the business. Success in this role should be tied to visible improvement in customer traffic, online engagement, bookings, and general awareness of Afro Eatery.
Performance may be measured by growth in social media followers and engagement, increase in walk in traffic, increase in event turnout, increase in reservations and group bookings, stronger online brand presence, improved customer awareness of promotions, and more consistent weekday and weekend sales activity.
Skills and Qualities Required
The ideal person should be creative, proactive, organized, confident, and able to think like a business builder. They should understand restaurant and lounge marketing, social media trends, nightlife promotion, customer attraction strategies, and how to create content that converts into real customers.
They should have strong communication skills, be comfortable working around customers and events, and be able to represent Afro Eatery in a polished and professional manner.
