About the job
This position is responsible for overseeing the delivery of sales & marketing programs and services to Troon and all Troon affiliate social media channels. This individual oversees Troon corporate social media marketing and corporate managed handles. This requires an high level of understanding of social media best practices, processes, and an understanding of the golf and hospitality industry. These efforts are designed to positively impact brand perception, followers, engagement, revenue, rounds and profit for managed facilities and the company.
Essential Duties:
- Responsible for managing content curation and execution to all applicable Troon social media channels including, but not limited to; the website, blog, Facebook, Instagram, X, YouTube, . TikTok, Pinterest, etc.
- Management of corporate managed Troon handles on behalf of clients
- Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to
- Executing the content calendar as planned, and supplementing with ad hoc social media requests from various departments.
- Daily engagement on posts, stories and/or other Troon related content. Reposting and engaging those that share @Troon tags or content from Troon managed facilities.
- Engagement with social posts, stories and content when Team Troon players are competing the PGA/LPGA Tour events and execution of social engagement when Troon facilities are hosting PGA/LPGA/PGA Champions Tour or other high profile events.
- Execution of sweepstakes and additional spontaneous/engagement sweepstakes coordinating prize acquisition, terms and conditions, contest promotion and winner selection.
- Tell the story and bring to life Troon’s Mission, Vision, and Values
- Storytell around our company, our associates and brand(s)
- Travel for the purposes of content creation to key events or activation opportunities (locally, regionally and nationally
- Development of new social strategies to expand upon Troon’s digital footprint
- Provide Internal Social Media Education
- Be the organic social media subject matter expert for Troon facilities under management.
- Curate an annual social media content calendar for corporate posts, centralized social media content posted on the facilities’ behalf, and suggested content.
- Distribute advance monthly Social Media Tips and best practices presentations to the managed facilities via monthly emails, and follow up virtual calls.
- Explore and pitch opportunities for continuing education as appropriate.
- Understand as new digital marketing strategies are introduced, keeping the both the Troon and facility sales and marketing leaders up to date.
- Monitoring quality & brand standards of corporate and facility accounts and postings on applicable social media channels, in alignment with current and evolving Troon Social media strategies
- Developing and supporting social media strategies of Troon facilities across all applicable social media channels
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree (BA) and/or four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Physical Demands:
- Regularly stands, walks and sits. Occasionally climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crawls, crouches, tastes or smells. Regularly uses hands, reaches with arms and hands, talks or hears. Occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds.
Environment/Noise:
- Occasionally works in outdoor weather conditions. Noise level is moderate.
Certificates/Licenses:
- None Required.
Job Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Preferences:
Ability to read and speak English may be required in order to perform the duties of the job.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
Comprehensive knowledge of all social media channels.
Understanding of influencer strategies and tactics
Ability to stay engaged with social media channels and what is trending throughout special events in the golf and hospitality industry regardless of timing.
Ability to study, analyze and interpret complex activities and/or information in order to improve new practices or develop new approaches.
Knowledge of photo/video editing techniques and tools both internal and external to social media channels.
Excellent interpersonal and sales-related skills.
Ability to work independently with little supervision.
