Overview
The Communications/Marketing Coordinator will play a vital role in executing communication and marketing strategies, managing digital platforms, creating engaging content, supporting outreach activities, and developing brand awareness documents. This position will coordinate strategies for Disability Rights Arkansas (DRA), develop content, and act as lead media contact. In addition, the coordinator will strengthen internal and external understanding of DRA’s identity and impact, and inform, engage, and influence key audiences.
ESSENTAIL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Community and Media Engagement:
a. Assist the Executive Director in fostering relationships with community partners, influencers, and support to enhance the organization outreach efforts.
b. Coordinate planning for exhibits, outreach, and training events to include all event coordination including event platform/website setup, moderation, and event timeline.
c. Develop and distribute the agency annual report.
d. Fosters relationships with individual media reporters, bloggers, and editorial boards through direct contact and through op-ed suggestions and submissions.
e. Builds useful relationships among traditional media outlets, bloggers, and social media leaders.
f. Coordinates with the Executive Director in writing and editing press releases, speeches, articles, Op-Ed pieces, and letters to the editor.
Content Creation:
a. Develop compelling and creative content for digital platforms, including social media, website, newsletters, and promotional materials.
b. Write and edit blog posts, articles, social media posts, and other marketing collaterals to effectively communicate the organization's message.
Digital Marketing:
a. Assist in planning and executing digital marketing campaigns, including email marketing, online advertising, and search engine optimization (SEO) strategies.
b. Track and analyze the performance of digital campaigns and provide reports and recommendations.
Website Management:
a. Coordinate webpage maintenance to ensure consistent information updates (article links, stories, and events).
b. Maintain responsibility for DRA’s website administration and coordination.
Engagement Tracking:
a. Manage the development, distribution, and maintenance of newsletters, brochures, annual reports, e-newsletters, and the organization’s website.
b. Measure and evaluate the effectiveness of agency marketing and communication efforts, including tracking the value of media coverage through news clippings, online articles, and surveys.
Marketing and Development:
a. Works with the Executive Director and Board to execute fundraising efforts and initiate appeals.
b. Coordinate periodic fundraising appeals available through digital platforms and provide support for other fundraising activities, including production and mailing/emailing of appeals, and material for annual fundraising activities.
c. Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends, activities, and client preferences.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIRED SKILLS:
a. Bachelor’s degree in communication, marketing, or related field.
b. Three or more years’ experience relevant experience working in a similar position. Recent college graduates.
c. Strong verbal and listening skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
d. Stellar communication skills in writing with the ability to prepare clearly written articles, summaries, and analysis.
f. Ability to engage others and influence outcomes.
g. Excellent interpersonal and networking abilities with the capacity to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
h. Proficiency in social media platforms, content management systems, graphic designed software (e.g. Adobe Creative Suite), and email marketing tools.
i. Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365.
j. Basic knowledge of digital marketing strategies and analytics.
k. Experience using WordPress content management system and basic HTML.
l. Creativity, adaptability, and a proactive mindset.
m. Passional for social causes and the mission of the nonprofit sector.
Pay: $47,000.00 - $58,000.00 per year
