About Emily’s Entourage

Emily’s Entourage (EE) speeds lifesaving research and drug development for individuals in the final 10% of the cystic fibrosis (CF) community that do not benefit from currently available mutation-targeted therapies. Founded by Emily Kramer-Golinkoff with family and friends in 2011, EE has awarded millions of dollars in research grants, launched a CF gene therapy company that is now in a clinical trial, developed a patient database and clinical trial matchmaking program to accelerate clinical trial recruitment, and led worldwide efforts to drive high-impact research and drug development.

While the urgency of the organization is inspired by Emily’s advanced-stage disease, the work of EE gives impetus to advances that can benefit not only people with CF, but also millions of people living with genetic diseases, as well as those combating antibiotic-resistant infections for whom there are no existing treatments.

Responsibilities

Social Media Content Development and Management

In collaboration with the Director of Marketing and Communications:

  • Support the planning and execution of EE’s social media strategy, building on existing momentum to drive continued growth in engagement, reach, and mission visibility.
  • Develop and manage a monthly content calendar aligned with EE’s messaging priorities, events, campaigns, and fundraising initiatives.
  • Create platform-optimized multimedia content (graphics, short-form video, and copy) for EE’s core social channels—Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn—tailoring content to each platform’s audience and goals.
  • Schedule, publish, and monitor posts, ensuring consistent brand voice, visual cohesion, and strategic timing.
  • Track and report performance metrics and continuously refine content strategy based on engagement data, audience insights, and platform trends.
  • Proactively identify emerging social media trends, tools, platforms, and storytelling formats to keep EE’s presence fresh, relevant, and impactful.

Community Building and Influencer Partnerships

  • Grow EE’s digital presence both within the CF community and among the general public, building awareness of the organization’s mission and impact and increasing the reach of EE’s social content.
  • Develop and manage a structured influencer engagement strategy focused on CF community voices, coordinating collaborations, cross-posting, and campaign participation.
  • Identify, recruit, and cultivate relationships with patient advocates, caregivers, researchers, clinicians, and aligned creators to expand EE’s storytelling network.
  • Develop processes and infrastructure for managing collaborations (outreach templates, partnership guidelines, content workflows, tracking systems).
  • Actively nurture EE’s online community by engaging in comments, DMs, and conversations to deepen connection, trust, and visibility within the CF community.

Paid Social Media Strategy and Campaign Support

  • Support the development and execution of EE’s paid social media strategy to increase awareness, engagement, and fundraising outcomes.
  • Assist in audience targeting, creative testing, and performance tracking for paid campaigns.
  • Work with the Director of Marketing and Communications to evaluate results and refine ad strategy over time.

Digital Marketing Support

  • Provide support for digital marketing initiatives such as email formatting, campaign content preparation, or website updates as needed.
  • Assist with digital promotion of major campaigns, events, and other emerging initiatives in collaboration with the marketing team.

Requirements

This role is designed for an individual contributor who can integrate into EE’s team and dedicate consistent weekly focus to the organization, rather than operating in a traditional agency or client-services capacity.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, English, Public Health, Science Communication, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 3–5 years of experience managing social media for an organization, with demonstrated success increasing engagement and audience growth.
  • Experience working in healthcare, scientific research, patient advocacy, nonprofit, or other mission-driven fields strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex scientific, medical, or technical information into clear, engaging, audience-friendly content for non-expert audiences.
  • Strong storytelling instincts, with the ability to frame research and data in compelling, engaging ways.
  • Proven content creation skills, including writing platform-specific copy and developing visual and short-form video content for social platforms.
  • Experience using social media analytics to evaluate performance and refine content strategy.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing recurring workflows independently within a small, collaborative team environment.
  • Experience working with community voices, collaborators, or influencers is a strong plus.

Technical Skills

  • Experience with social media management platforms (i.e., Sprout Social)
  • Proficiency with content creation/design tools such as Canva and/or Adobe Creative Suite
  • Comfort working in collaborative digital environments (shared drives, project management tools, etc.)
