The Director of Marketing leads the development and execution of the Professional Bowlers Association’s growth and promotional strategy across brand, broadcast tune in, events, athlete initiatives, entertainment partnerships, and integrated campaigns. This role drives fan growth, increases television viewership, supports live event attendance, and elevates the visibility of PBA athletes and personalities while overseeing digital and social campaigns and building go to market strategies for PBA Tour events and broadcasts. The Director partners closely with broadcast partners, league leadership, content teams, and commercial partners to expand audience reach, engagement, and cultural relevance across platforms.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead overall PBA brand marketing strategy and positioning

    • Drive broadcast tune in marketing for PBA events on television partners
    • Develop go to market strategies and marketing plans for major PBA Tour events and championships
    • Lead event marketing programs designed to drive ticket sales and local awareness
    • Oversee player and athlete marketing initiatives that elevate PBA bowlers through storytelling, social media, and media opportunities
    • Develop athlete driven campaigns that highlight personalities, rivalries, and competitive storylines across the PBA Tour
    • Work directly with bowlers to help grow their individual brands across digital platforms
    • Lead entertainment marketing opportunities connecting PBA with sports, comedy, film, and creator communities
    • Support and leverage the PBA’s premium national media footprint across The CW Network, CBS, Paramount+, and CBS Sports Network, creating opportunities for integrated partnerships, sponsorship visibility, and cross-platform brand exposure.
    • Ensure marketing campaigns are designed for digital and social distribution
    • Manage marketing operations including campaign planning, timelines, reporting, and cross departmental coordination
    • Partner with broadcast partners and media teams to support promotion of televised events and major tournaments
    • Collaborate with content and social media teams to develop engaging storytelling and highlight driven marketing moments
    • Identify opportunities to expand the PBA fan base through emerging platforms, creators, influencers, and digital communities
    • Support marketing efforts for league initiatives including PBA League events, special tournaments, and major championship moments
    • Utilize data, audience insights, and fan engagement metrics to optimize marketing performance and campaign effectiveness
    • Work cross functionally with partnerships, communications, and media teams to ensure integrated marketing execution across all platforms

What You’ll Bring

  • BA/BS degree in Economics, Marketing, and/or Business with marketing emphasis.
  • 8 plusyears experiencein sports marketing, media marketing, or entertainment marketing

• Prior experience working in professional sports, sports leagues, or sports media • Experience developing go to market strategies and marketing plans

+ Experience leading integrated marketing campaigns across broadcast, digital, and social platforms
+ Experience marketing live sports or entertainment events
+ Experience working with athletes, talent, or creators on brand and promotional initiatives
+ Strong understanding of sports fan behavior, storytelling, and audience growth strategies
+ Ability to manage multiple marketing initiatives in a fast paced sports environment
+ Strong cross functional leadership and collaboration skills
+ Analytical mindset with experience using performance metrics and fan engagement data to guide marketing decisions

The pay range for this position is $110,000 - $125,000 + bonus
