Hallow

Contract

Chicago, IL, USA (Remote)

About the job

Who We Are Hallow is on a mission to help people pray. We’re the No. 1 prayer app in the world, with more than 1 billion prayers prayed across 150+ countries. We're building a product that is authentically Christian and Catholic, while at the same time a resource for anyone looking to grow deeper in a relationship with God. We believe that people are hungry for peace, and that there is no surer way to find it than by learning to sit in silence with Christ: “Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest” (Mt 11:28).

Our goal is to build something truly great. Something that combines the beauty of the Church's spirituality with world-class product and content execution. And we need a world-class team to make it happen.

We launched the app in December 2018 and have been blown away with the incredible growth & traction. Hallow has been downloaded more than 25 million times with over 250,000 5-star reviews. We're blessed to be backed by some of the best mission-driven investors in the world and are excited to build out the team to help a lot more folks grow closer to God.

We are a startup. We move quickly. We are small but we take big swings. Each person is responsible for making an impact. It is hard—but deeply meaningful—work. We'd be honored & humbled if you'd consider joining us.

TL;DR: We’re looking for someone to create and iterate on high-performing social and paid media content for Hallow’s Kids Content—especially short-form video, UGC, and influencer-style creative that helps parents, teachers, and families discover prayer in a way that actually sticks.

You’ll work closely with the Kids Content team (including Saints Alive) to bring ideas to life—from scripting and filming to editing and iterating based on performance. This role sits at the intersection of Creative, Marketing, and Growth, and will play a key role in helping more families pray together.

What You'll Do

  • Create High-Performing Video Content: You’ll concept, film, and edit short-form video content for paid and organic channels (TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, etc.). This includes UGC-style content, storytelling, and creative that feels native to each platform.
  • Write & Develop Creative: You’ll script and develop content for ads & social. You'll be testing hooks, formats, and messaging that resonate with parents, teachers, and families.
  • Collaborate with Creators & Influencers: You’ll help guide and collaborate with influencers, partners, and UGC creators—writing briefs, shaping content, and helping them create high-performing videos.
  • Turn Performance into Better Creative: You’ll work closely with the Growth team to understand what’s working (and what’s not), and quickly iterate on new ideas, hooks, and formats.
  • Bring Ideas to Life (End-to-End): From brainstorming to filming to editing, you’ll own the full creative process for many pieces of content.
  • Stay on Top of Trends: You’ll constantly be plugged into social trends, formats, and platform best practices—and find ways to adapt them in a way that feels authentic to Hallow.

What You’ll Love

  • Mission: This work is incredibly humbling. Every day we hear amazing stories and we get the pleasure of working on something that’s impacting lives.
  • Ownership: You’ll play a central role in helping one of the biggest areas of Hallow’s content grow.
  • Growth: You’ll be part of a fast-paced marketing team at a start-up. Each week looks different! Over the next couple of years, we plan to expand the company significantly, and we’ll need your help to set the tone for how we’ll continue to reach folks all over the world.
  • Flexibility: HQ is in Chicago (USA); this position is remote. We’re super flexible with location/hours within the U.S.; we don’t care when you work, just that it gets done.
  • Comp: We will pay competitive market rates for this hourly, part-time contract position.

What We're Looking For

  • Passion: First & foremost, we’re looking for someone excited about our mission. It makes it a lot more fun :)
  • Content Creation Experience: You have experience creating video content—especially short-form, UGC-style, or social-first content.
  • Videography & Editing Skills: You’re comfortable filming and editing your own content (iPhone or camera). You know how to make something feel engaging, natural, and scroll-stopping.
  • Strong Creative Instincts: You know what makes a good hook. You understand pacing, storytelling, and how to keep attention.
  • Performance Mindset: You’re excited to look at data and use it to improve your content. You like testing, learning, and iterating.
  • Creativity: You’re constantly coming up with new ideas and aren’t afraid to try things. You understand trends—but know how to adapt them in a way that feels authentic.
  • Communication: You can collaborate well with teammates and external creators, giving clear direction and feedback.
  • Hustle: This is a core value to Hallow’s mission - we work hard and try to build as fast as we can. Our goal is to build the highest quality deliverables at incredible speeds. This role is suited for a creative problem-solver who thrives in a fast-paced environment where information is not always readily available.

We're a small team and we care deeply about each new hire, so sometimes it can take us a while to get through the hiring process for these roles. Apologies in advance for any delays. We'll do our best to keep you updated throughout the process, and we really appreciate your patience and understanding as we work through everything.

We are honored that you'd consider joining the team and look forward to connecting with you.

Best,
