Overview We are seeking a Vice President of Earned Media / PR to lead integrated communications strategy across healthcare, pharmaceutical, and bioscience clients. This role will drive high-impact, insight-led storytelling that translates complex science into culturally relevant narratives—spanning earned media, creator/influencer engagement, and modern media ecosystems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead development and execution of earned-first communications strategies across HCP, patient, and consumer audiences
  • Shape narrative platforms that connect clinical innovation, brand storytelling, and real-world impact
  • Oversee media relations strategy, cultivating top-tier relationships across healthcare, pharma, policy, trade, and consumer outlets
  • Drive launch communications for both OTC and regulated products, ensuring compliance while maximizing visibility and engagement
  • Integrate influencer, creator, and emerging media into traditional PR programs to extend reach and credibility
  • Partner cross-functionally with strategy, digital, medical/legal/regulatory (MLR), and analytics teams
  • Mentor and lead high-performing teams, ensuring excellence in execution and client counsel

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in earned media, PR, or communications within healthcare, pharmaceutical, or biosciences sectors
  • Proven track record leading media strategy and execution for both OTC and regulated product communications
  • Deep, established relationships with healthcare, pharma, policy, and business media
  • Strong understanding of regulatory environments, including FDA guidelines and MLR processes
  • Experience translating complex scientific and clinical data into compelling, accessible narratives
  • Demonstrated ability to lead integrated campaigns across earned, social, and influencer channels
  • Exceptional client leadership, strategic thinking, and team management skills
  • Understanding of modern media ecosystems including those specific to healthcare, medical and pharmaceutical industry trade media, Substacks/beehiiv and other independent media resources

Compensation In order to comply with equal pay and salary transparency laws in various locations, we believe the target range of base compensation in all locations within the United States for this role is $120K-$175K. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and location.
