The Vice President of Performance Marketing & Digital Commerce is responsible for leading Johnny Was’ digital growth strategy, driving customer acquisition, retention, and revenue across all digital channels. This executive will oversee performance marketing, e-commerce operations, digital merchandising, CRM, and site optimization to accelerate profitable DTC growth while maintaining the integrity of the brand.

This leader combines strategic vision with operational excellence—leveraging data, analytics, and customer insights to scale digital performance while enhancing the online brand experience. The VP will partner closely with Brand Marketing, Merchandising, Planning, Technology, and Retail leadership to ensure a seamless omni-channel customer journey. Digital Commerce Strategy & Revenue Growth

Own the P&L for the e-commerce business, driving revenue, margin, and contribution goals.

Develop and execute a multi-year digital growth roadmap aligned with brand strategy.

Optimize site experience, digital merchandising, conversion, AOV, and customer lifetime value.

Lead forecasting and demand planning in partnership with Planning and Finance.

Drive omni-channel initiatives including BOPIS, ship-from-store, and digital-retail integration.

Performance Marketing & Customer Acquisition

Lead paid media strategy across all performance channels (Paid Search, Paid Social, Display, Affiliate, Influencer, Programmatic, etc.).

Oversee budget allocation and ROI optimization to ensure efficient CAC and strong ROAS.

Drive full-funnel marketing strategies that support both acquisition and retention.

Utilize advanced analytics and attribution modeling to inform investment decisions.

Continuously test, learn, and optimize campaigns based on data insights.

CRM & Customer Retention

Oversee email, SMS, loyalty, and retention marketing strategies.

Develop lifecycle marketing programs to increase repeat purchase rate and LTV.

Partner with Brand Marketing to ensure cohesive storytelling across digital touchpoints.

Leverage personalization tools and segmentation strategies to deepen customer engagement.

Digital Experience & Optimization

Lead UX/UI strategy, A/B testing, and site optimization initiatives.

Partner with Technology teams to enhance platform functionality and scalability.

Ensure mobile-first optimization and performance.

Oversee site content strategy in partnership with Creative and Brand teams.

Analytics & Reporting

Establish clear KPIs across digital commerce and performance marketing.

Deliver executive-level reporting on growth metrics, ROI, customer acquisition, and profitability.

Utilize customer data platforms and analytics tools to inform decision-making.

Identify emerging trends, tools, and technologies to maintain competitive advantage.

Leadership & Team Development

Build and lead a high-performing digital and performance marketing team.

Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and data-driven decision-making.

Collaborate cross-functionally to align digital strategies with merchandising and brand priorities. Pay is based on multiple factors, such as qualifications/skills/experience, geography, and state and local wage laws.
