Position Overview
The Director of Marketing will serve as a key leader responsible for driving Sunrise Irrigation’s growth through strategic, data-driven marketing initiatives. This role owns the full marketing function, from high-level strategy to hands-on execution, ensuring all efforts directly support revenue generation, brand development, and customer acquisition across all service lines.
This role requires a balance of strategic thinking and operational execution, with a strong focus on performance, accountability, and ROI. The Director of Marketing will oversee a multimillion-dollar marketing budget, optimize channel performance, and implement systems that connect marketing efforts directly to sales outcomes.
The ideal candidate is both a builder and a leader; someone who can create structure, develop people, and implement scalable marketing systems while also being willing to roll up their sleeves to execute. This person will play a critical role in shaping the Sunrise brand, strengthening community presence, and positioning the company as a market leader across our Market.
This is a hands-on leadership role that requires both strategic vision and the ability to execute.
Key Responsibilities
Marketing Strategy & Revenue Growth
- Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy that drives lead generation, revenue growth, and market expansion across all Sunrise service lines
- Align marketing efforts with operational capacity, seasonality, and company growth goals
- Identify opportunities to expand brand reach through new channels, partnerships
- Develop and execute integrated marketing strategies that increase brand awareness, customer acquisition, and retention
Team Leadership & Structure
- Lead, manage, and develop the marketing team, including Business Development Specialists and Digital Marketing Content Specialist
- Establish clear roles, goals, and accountability across digital, content, and field-based marketing functions
- Build structure, processes, and communication rhythms to ensure alignment and performance
- Mentor and develop high-performing marketing teams, fostering creativity, accountability, and results-driven execution
- Lead and scale a team of brand ambassadors and social media content creators to support growth initiatives
Digital Marketing & Content Oversight
- Oversee all digital marketing channels including website, SEO, paid advertising, email campaigns, and social media, TV, radio
- Provide direction to the Content Specialist on content strategy, storytelling, and brand consistency
- Ensure content supports business goals including lead generation, recruiting, and brand awareness
- Optimize performance using analytics, engagement data, and conversion metrics
- Oversee content strategy and production, ensuring high-quality, on-brand storytelling across all platforms
Brand & Storytelling
- Lead and oversee the development and execution of brand strategy across all customer and employee touchpoints
- Manage and hold team members accountable for maintaining consistent messaging, voice, and visual identity across all platforms
- Guide and coach the team in creating authentic, high-impact storytelling that elevates Sunrise’s reputation and highlights people, culture, and craftsmanship
- Direct and align ambassador, social, and digital efforts to ensure cohesive brand messaging and performance across all channels
- Establish brand standards, processes, and performance expectations to ensure consistency and quality at scale
Community Engagement & Business Development
- Lead and support Business Development Specialists in building strategic partnerships and referral networks
- Oversee local marketing efforts including events, sponsorships, networking groups, and community involvement
- Ensure business development activities align with overall marketing strategy and brand positioning
- Develop scalable referral and partnership programs that drive measurable growth
- Build and maintain strategic partnerships with agencies, influencers, vendors, and local organizations
Performance, Analytics & Reporting
- Define and track key performance indicators including cost per lead, conversion rates, ROI, and engagement
- Build reporting dashboards to measure both digital performance and community-based marketing impact
- Use data to inform decisions, optimize campaigns, and improve results
- Implement performance tracking systems to guide data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement
Budget & Resource Management
- Develop and manage the marketing budget across digital, content, and community initiatives
- Allocate resources to highest-impact channels and initiatives
- Continuously evaluate and adjust spend based on performance and business priorities
- Manage and optimize a multimillion-dollar marketing budget to maximize ROI across channels
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with operations and sales to ensure marketing efforts convert into booked work and revenue
- Collaborate with HR and recruiting to support employer branding and hiring initiatives
- Support company-wide initiatives that enhance customer experience and employee engagement
- Direct cross-functional collaboration between internal teams (sales, operations, creative) and external partners to ensure alignment on strategy and execution
Systems, Tools & Process Improvement
- Evaluate and implement tools for marketing automation, content management, and performance tracking
- Improve workflows between content creation, lead generation, and field execution
- Build scalable systems that support Sunrise’s continued growth
Qualifications
- 5-7 years marketing experience, preferably in home services, field services, or a growing service-based business
- Proven experience leading and developing a team
- Experience leading brand ambassadors, content creators, or community-based marketing teams preferred
- Strong background in digital marketing, lead generation, and performance marketing
- Experience managing multiple marketing channels and campaigns simultaneously
- Proven experience managing and optimizing significant marketing budgets (multimillion dollar budget)
- Hands-on experience with Google Ads, Local Services Ads (LSA), SEO strategy, and PPC campaign management, with a focus on lead generation and cost efficiency
- Proven ability to develop and optimize local SEO strategies to improve search rankings, visibility, and inbound lead flow
- Experience managing paid media budgets across Google platforms, including campaign structure and performance optimization
- Ability to analyze and improve cost per lead (CPL), conversion rates, and return on ad spend (ROAS)
- Data-driven mindset with the ability to translate metrics into actionable strategy
- Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to collaborate across departments
- Experience working with external partners, agencies, or vendors
- Creative thinker who can balance brand-building with performance-driven marketing
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or related field preferred
