About the job

Description:

LendKey is a pioneer in digital network lending, empowering more than 400 credit unions and community banks nationwide. With over $8 billion in originated loans and $3.4 billion in serviced assets, we provide an integrated platform combining technology, operations, compliance, and capital markets access to help financial institutions compete in the digital age.

LendKey is looking for a Marketing Leader from within the credit union system who can translate industry relationships, credibility, and ecosystem insight into pipeline growth, market influence, and long-term partnerships. Success in this role comes from understanding how credit unions evaluate partners, building trust within the system, and converting that trust into measurable business outcomes.

You will own LendKey’s B2B demand generation strategy and partner with sales to drive pipeline growth across Private Student Lending (PSL), Student Loan Refinance (REFI), Home Improvement Lending (HIL), and Loan Sales and Participations. You will also oversee the external agency responsible for brand, PR, content, and website strategy.

What You'll Do:

Credit Union System Engagement & Market Presence

  • Expand LendKey’s market presence and influence across credit union leagues, associations, CUSOs, the national conference circuit, and key industry influencers and trade media
  • Serve as LendKey’s internal voice for credit union buyer behavior, market dynamics, and ecosystem trends
  • Support strategic partnership efforts through awareness, positioning, and market engagement

Industry Presence & Thought Leadership

  • Establish LendKey as a visible and credible participant within the credit union movement
  • Develop conference speaking strategy and support executive positioning at key industry events
  • Shape thought leadership across trade media, webinars, white papers, and industry channels
  • Ensure all external messaging reflects authentic “system partner” positioning, not vendor messaging

Demand Generation & Pipeline Ownership

  • Own B2B MQL targets and pipeline generation
  • Design and execute integrated campaigns across email, webinars, trade media, and events
  • Implement account-based marketing targeting key credit union prospects
  • Partner with sales to define MQL-to-opportunity SLAs and improve conversion
  • Track performance across cost per MQL, pipeline contribution, and campaign ROI

Conference & Event Strategy

  • Own strategy and execution across 20+ annual credit union events
  • Define pre-event pipeline goals and post-event conversion tracking
  • Implement event ROI scorecards and refine investment strategy over time

Agency Oversight (Brand, PR, Website)

  • Serve as primary point of contact for external agency partners
  • Set priorities across PR, content, website, and brand narrative
  • Ensure all output aligns with credit union system expectations and LendKey’s positioning
  • Track PR performance including placements, share-of-voice, and speaking opportunities

Team & Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Lead and develop a high-impact team across demand generation, events, and marketing operations
  • Provide strategic direction while empowering the team to execute with consistency and quality
  • Partner with Sales, Product, and Operations to align messaging, campaigns, and growth priorities
  • Provide strategic direction for sales enablement and market positioning

Requirements: What We’re Looking For:

  • 8+ years of experience in marketing, partnerships, or growth roles within or serving the credit union ecosystem; Internal, member-focused credit union/bank marketing alone is not sufficient for this role
  • 4+ years of experience managing teams
  • Deep familiarity with how credit unions evaluate partners, including governance, associations, and buying dynamics
  • Existing relationships within the credit union system (leagues, associations, CUSOs, or vendor network)
  • Proven ability to translate industry relationships into pipeline growth and business impact
  • Experience leading B2B demand generation programs (campaigns, events, trade media, webinars)
  • Experience managing or overseeing external agencies
  • Proficiency with HubSpot and Salesforce
  • Experience leading small teams with clear KPI accountability
  • Strong executive-level communication and content development skills

Location

Remote-first with travel required for credit union conferences and industry events
