The Avery and Tarcher imprints at Penguin Random House are searching for a Marketing Assistant to join their team! As the Assistant, you will support the Marketing Director on front list and backlist title marketing campaigns in the health, wellness, cooking, creativity, and spirituality categories, as well as provide general administrative support to the marketing team. This is an incredible opportunity to learn about book marketing and publishing as a whole, while working with a passionate and collaborative team that can tell you all about their attachment styles, habit hacks, and favorite recipes (and, of course, their dogs).
Our ideal candidate is a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual capable of applying their core skills in organization, multitasking, proactive problem solving, data analysis, and communication to the position of Marketing Assistant. We are looking for an efficient, creative candidate to join our dynamic team and bring a fresh perspective while collaborating on tasks such as crafting title marketing campaigns, sharing new ideas for social media, and providing feedback on existing systems and how we may improve them.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:* Researching influencer and brand partnerships for title and social media campaigns
- Preparing materials for marketing and sales meetings
- Collaborating with the marketing team to create content for social media platforms and maintaining the imprints’ LinkedIn, Facebook, and X accounts
- Providing support for our imprints’ monthly influencer program, including mailing out books and conducting quarterly sweeps of our membership list
- Providing general administrative support, which includes updating records, maintaining databases, uploading digital galleys to NetGalley, executing mailings, etc. Liaising between the Marketing team and the Creative Marketing Services department to organize and keep track of department projects, and writing copy for digital ads and promotions
Requirements:* Strong understanding of social media platforms
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for working with authors and influencers, crafting social media messaging, and developing marketing material
- Strong organizational skills and excellent attention to detail, with demonstrated ability to meet deadlines
- Self-motivated with the ability to set priorities and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Demonstrates the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in all Microsoft Office Suite Genuine interest in marketing and book publishing – strong interest in health and wellness or self-help books a plus

**Salary for the Assistant level is $51,000. Full-time employees are eligible for our comprehensive benefits program. All positions are currently eligible for an annual profit award or bonus, subject to company results.****This is a hybrid position that has occasional in-office responsibilities, including but not limited to in-office meetings, author visits or events, and daily ad hoc administrative projects.
