Description: Position Summary:
The Communications & Digital Media Specialist is a member of the Public Affairs & Communications (PA&C) team, reporting into the Executive Vice President, this position leads and executes the association’s social media and digital media activities, including writing, editing, and storytelling through digital media platforms. Obtains direction and assistance from team members to complete additional daily tasks.

Essential Functions Statement(s):
Social Media Strategy & Management
- Manage the association’s social media platforms, including planning, drafting, scheduling, and publishing content while maintaining a consistent posting cadence and brand voice.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive social media strategy aligned with the organization’s communications and marketing objectives.
- Identify opportunities to expand audience reach, engagement, and follower growth across platforms.
- Monitor social media activity and industry conversations, identifying emerging issues, opportunities, and reputational risks that may impact the association or its member companies.
Digital Campaigns & Content Development
- Support the execution of digital communications strategies for issue campaigns, events, and related initiatives.
- Create engaging multimedia content including graphics and short-form videos for posting to social media platforms.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to amplify key announcements, initiatives, and events through social and digital channels.
- Research and identify opportunities to collaborate with bloggers, podcasters, and social media influencers aligned with the association’s mission and priorities.
- Coordinate outreach to digital creators and prepare briefing materials or partnership guidance for creator collaborations.
Analytics & Performance Optimization
- Track and analyze social media performance metrics including engagement, reach, audience growth, and conversions.
- Prepare regular analytics reports and provide recommendations to optimize digital strategy and campaign effectiveness.
- Manage social media advertising campaigns, and assist with the creation of the strategy, including audience targeting, budgeting, and performance evaluation.
Digital Media Monitoring & Industry Intelligence
- Leverage the association’s digital platforms to curate and distribute daily media clips to internal stakeholders.
- Monitor trending industry news and relevant digital conversations, providing timely updates to internal teams.
Content Management & Editorial Support
- Assist with the development and maintenance of the Public Affairs & Communications editorial calendar.
- Post news releases, statements, and other relevant content to the PCPC website and manage content updates for CosmeticsInfo.org.
- Copy edit communications materials, including press releases, fact sheets, presentations, and reports, prior to final review by the EVP.
Professional Development & Innovation
- Stay current on emerging social media platforms, digital technologies, and industry trends to ensure the association’s digital presence remains modern and effective.
Organizational Support
- Contribute to additional communications initiatives and special projects that support the mission and operational priorities of the organization.

SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Education: BS/BA in PR, communications, journalism or relevant field
Experience: 3-5 years of experience in public relations, communications and/or public affairs. Knowledge of social and digital strategy. Experience in project management. Agency experience preferred.
Technical Skills: Social media proficiency, AP Style, WordPress, Microsoft Suite, Experience in basic graphic design (Canva preferred), Adobe Suite (preferred), photo and video-editing software (preferred)
