SUMMARY
The Content & Social Lead is responsible for bringing the story of the resort to life across digital channels through compelling visual storytelling, social media strategy, and original content creation.
This role sits at the intersection of marketing, guest experience, and brand storytelling. The Content & Social Lead captures the daily rhythm of the resort, from mountain mornings to evening dining, translating the energy, creativity, and natural beauty of the property into content that inspires visitation and deepens guest connection.
Working closely with the Marketing team and resort departments, this role oversees the development of photography, video, written storytelling, and social media campaigns that support resort-wide marketing initiatives.
This role requires a strong creative instinct, excellent storytelling ability, and a deep appreciation for hospitality, outdoor recreation, and experiential travel.
Key Responsibilities:
Share the Story of Sundance
- Own the visual and narrative storytelling of the resort across social media, the website, and digital marketing channels.
- Capture and produce photography and short-form video that showcases lodging, dining, mountain recreation, events, and cultural programming.
- Develop content that reflects the resort's brand identity, natural environment, and artistic spirit.
- Identify and capture authentic guest experiences across seasons and programming.
Social Media Planning & Campaign Execution
- Develop and execute the resort's social media strategy across platforms including Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, X, LinkedIn, and emerging channels.
- Promote key initiatives including season pass campaigns, lodging offers, festivals, concerts, and special events.
- Maintain an editorial calendar aligned with marketing campaigns, resort programming, and seasonal moments.
- Manage daily posting, engagement, and guest interaction across social platforms.
- Monitor trends and identify new opportunities to grow reach and engagement.
Content Production & Creative Direction
- Lead content planning for major campaigns including season pass launches, lodging promotions, festivals, and special events.
- Coordinate photography and video shoots with internal teams and external creators when needed.
- Maintain visual standards and brand consistency across all digital content.
- Collaborate with design and marketing teams to ensure content aligns with campaign messaging.
- Support in-house teams and coordinate with third party graphic designers with signage design needs to drive consistency of brand voice and visuals.
Community & Influencer Engagement
- Encourage and curate user-generated content from guests and brand advocates.
- Identify and collaborate with creators and influencers aligned with the resort brand.
- Support PR and media partnerships by providing visual assets and real-time coverage.
Performance Tracking & Optimization
- Monitor social media analytics including engagement, reach, audience growth, and referral traffic.
- Provide regular insights and recommendations to the Marketing team.
- Test new content formats, storytelling approaches, and platform features to increase performance.
- Monitor brand mentions and respond appropriately to guest inquiries and feedback.
- Monitor social media performance metrics including engagement, reach, audience growth, and referral traffic.
- Provide regular performance reports and insights to the Marketing leadership team.
Cross-Department Collaboration
- Work closely with Lodging, Mountain Operations, Food & Beverage, Programming, Retail, and Events teams to highlight resort experiences.
- Partner with Marketing leadership to support campaign storytelling and promotional initiatives.
- Coordinate content needs across the resort to ensure alignment and consistency.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 2 years experience in content marketing, social media, or digital storytelling.
- Strong photography and short-form video production skills.
- Experience managing brand social media channels and editorial calendars.
- Strong writing and visual storytelling ability.
- Experience using social media analytics and scheduling tools.
- Hospitality, travel, lifestyle, or destination marketing, including outdoor recreation brand experience, strongly preferred.
- Experience working with influencers, creators, or media partners.
