Head of Social Content & Strategy
Full-time
Charlotte, NC, US
About the job
The Role
We're hiring a Head of Social Content & Strategy to own the creative and strategic direction of our social media presence. This is a hands-on leadership role — you'll be the one behind the camera, behind the edit, and behind the strategy. You'll build and manage content that makes people feel something, drives community growth, and reflects what Blackstone is actually like to be inside.
This isn't a "post three times a week and call it done" role. You'll be setting strategy, producing high-quality content, managing channel performance, developing creator partnerships, and leading a direct report — all at once.
What You'll Own
Lead Content Strategy (20%)
- Own and execute the overall social content strategy across all platforms
- Track evolving trends, platform algorithms, influencer culture, and content formats — and apply them before everyone else does
- Build and maintain a content calendar with planned shoots, posting schedules, and approval timelines
- Develop and enforce brand voice and visual guidelines across all channels and contributors
Create & Produce Content (50%)
- Shoot high-quality video and still photography for all social platforms
- Edit with a social-first mindset — vertical formats, platform-tailored, attention-grabbing from frame one
- Review and give feedback on content produced by team members or external creators
Manage Channels & Performance (15%)
- Manage and grow social media channels using tools like Sprout Social
- Own campaign budgets and reporting; work with external creators as needed
- Translate analytics insights into actionable strategy adjustments
Lead Your People (5%)
- Hire, onboard, and train direct reports and freelance contributors
- Conduct regular 1:1s, annual performance reviews, and ongoing coaching with your direct report
- Coordinate with internal teams (design, events, marketing) to keep content aligned with broader initiatives
Own Client & Partner Relationships (10%)
- Brief, source, and manage relationships with influencer and creator partners
- Present content strategies and performance reports to stakeholders
- Conduct regular check-ins to align on goals, priorities, and upcoming campaigns
