Job Title: Fabric Hut Social Media Specialist

Position Overview:
Fabric Hut is seeking a creative, organized, and results-oriented Social Media Specialist to lead our digital marketing efforts and strengthen our online presence. The ideal candidate will have a passion for textiles and a strong ability to connect with DIY enthusiasts, crafters, and creators through engaging and strategic content. This role will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our social media, website content, and digital communications, while working collaboratively with store staff to support both online and in-store initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute a cohesive social media strategy aligned with the store’s brand identity and business objectives
  • Create, curate, and manage daily content across multiple platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, TikTok, and YouTube
  • Maintain and update website content to reflect current promotions, product availability, and events
  • Develop and schedule a weekly email newsletter, including list management and performance analysis (e.g., open and click-through rates)
  • Promote new fabric arrivals, store sales, workshops, and community events
  • Manage the class and classroom schedule; ensure timely and effective promotion of all offerings
  • Collaborate with in-store staff to highlight customer projects, classes, and behind-the-scenes stories
  • Coordinate with the Data Entry Clerk to synchronize sales schedules across fabrichut.com, POS, and advertising materials
  • Work with the Data Entry Clerk to enhance inventory categorization and online searchability
  • Respond promptly and professionally to customer inquiries, comments, and messages
  • Monitor performance analytics (engagement, reach, conversions) and refine strategies based on insights
  • Identify and collaborate with influencers, local artists, and sewing bloggers to expand brand reach
  • Stay current on trends in social media, content marketing, and the fabric/sewing/craft industry
  • Provide occasional support to the Front of House team, as needed

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Social Media Specialist or in a similar digital marketing role
  • Familiarity with or interest in textiles, sewing, and crafts is strongly preferred
  • Strong written communication and visual storytelling skills
  • Working knowledge of copyright and content ownership best practices
  • Proficiency in social media platforms, including Canva, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok
  • Basic photography and video editing capabilities
  • Understanding of SEO principles and Google Analytics is beneficial

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $25.00 per hour
