We are looking for our next Head of Legacy and Advocacy leader to drive brand love and respect for 1800 Tequila, leveraging our quality, authenticity, and passion for making the World's Most Awarded Tequila. The 1800 Tequila Head of Legacy & Advocacy will embody the brand identity, identifying and building relationships with those who influence each of our target audiences: consumers, trade, and media. We are looking for a dynamic, entrepreneurial individual able to manage a significant travel schedule, manage senior internal and external stakeholders, and execute a wide variety of activities on behalf of the brand.
Program Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- (Trade) Educate and build relationships with bartenders and other On/Off Trade opinion leaders to inspire brand love and advocacy.
- (Trade) Support ongoing experiential and digital brand education platform The Taste Collective, as the core brand legacy, process, and terroir expert.
- (Trade) Support the commercial team and on-premise specialists to identify and 'look after' key accounts.
- (Trade) Attend key national trade conferences and develop/execute trade-focused educational experiences.
- (Trade) Collaborate with Proximo Head of Advocacy & Proximo Portfolio Ambassadors to support ongoing brand education & in-market trainings at key accounts
- (Media & Influencers) Be the face of the brand for PR & Earned
Social opportunities in the market across national trade, consumer press and/or influencer channels.
- Comfortable in public speaking situations, along with on-camera opportunities.
- (Media & Influencers) Forge and nurture relationships with journalists and influencers.
- Deliver tastings to media & influencers virtually and/or in person
- Participate in interviews either via phone, video, in-person, or via email
- Host media & influencers on distillery trips where appropriate
- Deliver tastings to media & influencers virtually and/or in person
- (Media & Influencers) Establish and nurture a credible social media presence in line with the brand's identity and positioning.
- (Internal) Collect market and competitive set intelligence and share with brand and regional teams in regular updates.
- (Internal) Contribute to brand planning sessions, bringing brand and category expertise as well as creative ideas.
- (Internal) Be the single source of brand history and knowledge to our internal teams and agencies, conducting the necessary work to align all stakeholders.
- (Internal) Develop and conduct regular training and brand experiences for commercial teams and regional ambassadors.
- (Consumer) Create and/or deliver brand experiences to consumers directly at key tentpole events (live or virtual), providing education on brand, category ,and brand RTB
Skills and Qualifications:
- Extensive knowledge, expertise, and/or experience in Mexican culture, with particular emphasis on Jalisco and Tequila.
- Affinity with and cultural ability to represent the values of a premium tequila brand with a long-standing legacy.
- Strong background in spirits and bartending/mixology, either through professional experience or personal interest - spirits certifications preferred (AWS Level 2 and above).
- Bilingual in Spanish and English.
- Experience participating in on-camera opportunities
- Must be likable, relatable, memorable, charismatic, passionate, and have an infectious personality.
- Must exhibit a deep love and appreciation for the Tequila category.
- Must be an excellent storyteller who is captivating, interesting, and has the ability to express oneself in a clear, succinct, compelling, and energetic manner in individual and group situations, adjusting language and style to capture the attention of the audience.
- Must be commercially savvy and have the ability to work closely with the internal sales team, distributor, and key accounts to keep 1800 Tequila top of mind.
- Must have strong organizational and project management skills.
- Should be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills: verbal & written.
- Should have experience with creative and innovative thinking, demonstrated ability to influence and partner with internal stakeholders, and the ability to act as a consultant within a team structure.
The annual range for this role varies between $135K– $150K and may vary depending on the candidate's experience.
