Reporting to the Vice President/General Manager, the Supply Chain leader will have responsibility and oversight of all supply chain, purchasing and inventory functions. In addition, this position will establish and lead strategic initiatives regarding suppliers, inventory management and departmental activities. Other priorities include organizing and executing planning, forecasting, vendor selection, purchasing, sourcing, and inventory activities.
The position will lead a team of direct reports including Regional Purchasing Manager's (3), Inventory Planning Manager, Inventory Manager, Inventory Planner, and Purchasing Managers (7 Buyers).
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and implement strategic plan for Business Process, Sales and Operations Planning (SOP) reviews
- Identify and implement process changes needed across all levels of planning
- Identify functional improvements needed from technology
- Provide strategic lead on strategic customer projects
- Develop competitive pricing analysis and action plan
- Provide monthly reporting of supply chain metrics
- Develop plans with management and IT to further deploy available planning functionality from existing ERP systems
- Work with Purchasing Manager and Buyers to develop sourcing improvement strategy
- Develop scorecards and tools to oversee and report on the procurement process
- Drive development of supplier quality processes and metrics
- Work closely with operational leaders to identify and implement improvements to current processes in order to improve efficiency of operations
- Build and maintain good relationships with vendors
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business or related discipline
- 15+ years of relevant experience in supply chain functions (sourcing, purchasing, inventory) with an industrial distributor/supplier focus
- Proven record of achievement
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience planning and successfully implementing projects
- Hands on experience with supply chain management software (such as SAP MM, AP Modules, SAP Plant Maintenance, etc.)
- Demonstrated influencing skills and ability to work cross functionally
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability
- Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
- Work well with a diverse group of people at all levels of organizations including customers and suppliers
- Ability and willingness to work alongside co-workers to understand customer needs and drive improvements which create value for the company
- Ability to travel 25-30% is required (including Internationally)
- Experience in project management, and/or product management is a plus
- Ability to work collaboratively in a cross functional team environment

- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite; Microsoft Project experience is a plus
