The Social Media & Marketing Associate manages Juniper Books’ day-to-day social media presence and assists with marketing copy across key channels. This role captures and creates on-brand content, maintains a consistent publishing rhythm, manages influencer relationships and collaborations, and supports campaign messaging for launches, promotions, and events. The role also involves working one showroom shift per week to stay close to our products and customers and to strengthen content opportunities.
This is an early-career to mid-level role ideal for someone who is social media–fluent, highly organized, strong with words, and energized by books, design, and community-building.
Position: Full-time, salary
Pay: $50,000
Location: In-person at our Boulder, CO showroom. Remote candidates not considered.
Qualifications
- 1–3+ years relevant experience (brand social media, content creation, marketing, communications, or equivalent portfolio/track record).
- Demonstrated ability to create consistent social content and grow/maintain engagement for a brand.
- Strong writing skills and comfort with brand voice work (copywriting, headlines, captions, CTAs).
- Comfort capturing content on a phone and producing polished short-form video using simple tools (CapCut, native editing tools, Canva video, etc.).
- Familiarity with social scheduling tools (Later, Buffer, Meta Business Suite) and basic analytics/reporting.
- Experience or strong interest in influencer/creator partnerships and relationship management.
- Highly organized: can manage calendars, campaigns, and moving parts without dropping details.
- Bonus: familiarity with Shopify Collabs, affiliate programs, or Amazon creator content workflows.
Key Areas of Responsibility
Social media strategy + execution
- Own day-to-day execution across core platforms (primarily Instagram; plus TikTok, Pinterest, and others as assigned).
- Build and maintain a content calendar aligned with launches, promotions, events, and seasonal moments.
- Capture and create on-brand content: photos, short videos, behind-the-scenes clips, event coverage, product storytelling.
- Write strong captions and short-form copy consistent with Juniper’s voice and positioning.
- Schedule and publish posts/stories/reels; maintain a consistent posting rhythm.
- Maintain and organize a shared content library (folders, naming conventions, easy retrieval).
- Manage basic community engagement (comments/DMs/mentions) using internal guidelines; escalate customer service issues to the appropriate team.
- Track performance and share simple insights: what’s working, what to do more of, what to adjust.
Influencer + creator partnerships
- Research, identify, and build relationships with creators/influencers aligned with Juniper’s brand and audience.
- Manage outreach, communication, timelines, and deliverables for collaborations, giveaways, and launch support.
- Coordinate influencer execution (tracking shipments, content asks, deadlines, and follow-ups).
- Use Shopify Collabs (and/or other tools) to identify candidates, manage outreach, track sales/engagement, and refine the program over time.
- Coordinate creator partnerships for Amazon content (A+ content support, creator programs) as needed, ensuring content meets platform standards.
Marketing copy + campaign messaging
- Draft and refine marketing copy across channels, including:
- email campaign copy blocks
- app messages and short promotional copy
- website promotional copy (banners, collection callouts, product storytelling blurbs)
- Blog posts
Showroom support (One shift per week)
- Work one showroom shift per week to stay close to products and customer behavior—and provide reliable backup coverage.
- Greet visitors, answer questions, lead tours, and support sales.
- Keep the showroom guest- and content-ready during shifts (straighten displays, replenish materials, make light signage updates).
- Bring customer and showroom insights back into marketing (FAQs, common objections, best-selling sets, content opportunities).
