Senior Level (8–12 years of experience): Current title of Sr. Manager or relatively new to Director level would be appropriate for the role. As HoM you will execute and also lead the function with a small team and agencies supporting you in Acquisition, Retention, Brand and Lifecycle marketing across channels.
Location: Los Angeles preferred. Hybrid (at least one week per month in-office) or remote-friendly for exceptional candidates.
Compensation: Competitive salary ($125-175K) + equity. Unlimited PTO. Full benefits included.

Responsibilities & DutiesStrategic Leadership & Planning
- Own and execute the overall growth strategy and annual marketing plan aligned with business objectives and user/revenue targets
- Translate brand strategy into high-performing digital commerce experiences across all customer touchpoints
- Develop and maintain marketing budget, allocating resources across channels to maximize ROI and CAC efficiency
- Partner with executive team on business forecasting, growth modeling, and strategic planning
Performance Marketing Execution (Hands-On)
- Directly execute and optimize paid and organic social acquisition campaigns across Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, Snapchat, Pinterest, and emerging platforms
- Manage day-to-day campaign optimization including bidding strategies, audience targeting, creative testing, and budget allocation
- Build and scale multi-channel acquisition strategies to drive new customer growth and hit CAC targets
- Implement A/B testing frameworks for ad creative, landing pages, and conversion optimization
- Monitor daily/weekly/monthly performance metrics and make real-time optimization decisions
Team & Agency Management
- Build, lead, and mentor a small high-performing marketing team across multiple disciplines
- Manage relationships with external agencies/internal team members for paid media, creative production, SEO/AEO, and specialized marketing functions
- Establish clear KPIs, performance standards, and accountability frameworks
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration between marketing, product, operations, customer experience, and finance teams
- Conduct regular agency performance reviews and optimize vendor relationships for cost-effectiveness
Brand Marketing & Content Strategy
- Execute brand positioning, messaging architecture, and visual identity across all channels
- Lead social media content strategy across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and emerging platforms to drive organic growth and community engagement
- Oversee influencer partnerships, ambassador programs, and user-generated content initiatives
- Direct creative development for campaigns, ensuring brand consistency across paid, owned, and earned media
- Build content calendar and editorial strategy that supports acquisition, engagement, and retention goals
Retention & Lifecycle Marketing
- Design and implement comprehensive lifecycle marketing programs from onboarding through loyalty and reactivation
- Leverage CRM, email, SMS, and push notifications to drive engagement and ultimately conversion and repeat purchase rates and increase customer lifetime value
- Create triggered automation flows for cart abandonment, post-purchase, replenishment, and win-back campaigns
- Develop loyalty programs, referral initiatives, and VIP customer experiences
Analytics & Performance Measurement
- Establish marketing attribution models and reporting dashboards to track performance across all channels
- Analyze customer acquisition costs, lifetime value, ROAS, conversion rates, and channel efficiency metrics
- Conduct cohort analysis, funnel optimization, and customer journey mapping
Website & Conversion Optimization
- Partner with Product and Leadership on the end-to-end customer journey from landing page through checkout and post-purchase experience
- Consult with peers on initiatives including A/B testing, personalization, merchandising optimization, and user experience improvements
- Collaborate with product and engineering on site functionality, page speed, mobile optimization, and technical SEO/AEO
Required SkillsTechnical & Platform Expertise
- Deep hands-on experience executing paid media campaigns in Meta Ads Manager, Google Ads, TikTok Ads Manager
- Proficiency with analytics platforms (EG Google Analytics)
- Experience with marketing technology stack: CRM platforms (EG Klaviyo), attribution tools (EG Triple Whale), experimentation platforms (EG Optimizely)
- Understanding of tracking infrastructure, pixel implementation, conversion APIs, and iOS privacy changes
- Knowledge of email/SMS platforms, marketing automation, and customer data platforms
- Familiarity with creative tools (Canva, Figma) and content planning platforms (Later, Dash Hudson)
Analytical & Data Skills
- Advanced proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets for financial modeling, cohort analysis, and data manipulation
- Strong quantitative skills with ability to analyze complex datasets
- Deep understanding of ecommerce metrics: CAC, LTV, ROAS, contribution margin, payback period, cohort retention
- Experience building attribution models, incrementality testing, and multi-touch attribution analysis
Leadership & Management
- Proven track record building and leading high-performing marketing teams
- Experience managing agency relationships and vendor partnerships with clear accountability structures
- Ability to inspire, mentor, and develop team members while maintaining high performance standards
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills working with creative, product, engineering, operations, and finance
Strategic & Business Acumen
- Deep understanding of DTC marketing models, unit economics, and path to profitability
- Experience with P&L ownership, budget management ($1M-$5M+ annual budgets)
- Strategic thinking combined with tactical execution ability ("player-coach" mentality)
Creative & Brand Skills
- Strong aesthetic sense and ability to direct creative development across channels
- Experience building brand from awareness through advocacy across the customer journey
- Social media content fluency across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest
- Copywriting and messaging skills for ads, emails, landing pages, and brand communications
- Ability to balance brand-building with performance marketing objectives
Communication & Soft Skills
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for executive presentations, team leadership, and stakeholder management
- Data storytelling ability to make complex analytics accessible and actionable
- Emotional intelligence, adaptability, and resilience in high-growth startup environments
- Results-oriented mindset with strong bias for action and rapid iteration
- Creative problem-solving combined with operational rigor and attention to detail

- Knowledge of privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA), iOS tracking changes, and their impact on marketing
- Awareness of subscription commerce, retention strategies, and community-building tactics
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or related field (MBA a plus)
- Experience at high-growth DTC brands or prosumer businesses
- Track record of successfully launching new products or brands
- Proven ability to scale marketing efficiently while maintaining or improving unit economics
- Previous experience in startup environments (Series Seed-B stage)
Pay: $125,000.00 - $175,000.00 per year
