Business Developer

About the job
Want to build and scale growth experiments like a startup—inside a profitable, family-owned company?
Fresh Products has grown ~12% annually for 20 years and leads the U.S. away-from-home air care category. We’re entrepreneurial, innovative and we have more product concepts and growth ideas than we can test and scale.
You’ll thrive here if you love moving fast: building hypotheses, launching real-world tests, learning from the data, and doubling down on what works.
We’re looking for a Business Developer who pairs strategic thinking with hands-on execution to accelerate growth. Founded in 1971 in Toledo, Ohio, Fresh Products builds away-from-home air care solutions with a long track record of innovation and continuous growth.
What You’ll Do
Own a rapid test-and-learn engine—turning ideas into live experiments across paid social, ecommerce, creators/influencers, email/SMS, and landing pages.
Build clear business cases for growth bets (what we’ll test, what it costs, how we measure success, and what we do next).
Create and iterate on positioning, offers, and creative—then use results (not opinions) to decide what scales.
Run customer discovery and concept testing using online tools and in-person research to validate pain points, messaging, and product-market fit.
Test pricing, promos, bundles, and product variations—understanding unit economics and operational implications before we scale.
Track the metrics that matter share learnings fast, and turn insights into the next set of experiments.
Build relationships with creators, agencies, and partners—and when it makes sense, support distribution/channel pilots that open new demand.
Partner cross-functionally to ship—aligning marketing, sales, operations, and product so experiments can go live quickly and cleanly.
Move with urgency: double down on what works, stop what doesn’t, and keep the pipeline of high-impact ideas full.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative or growth-oriented field (e.g., Marketing, Business Analytics, Statistics, Economics, Industrial Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a science discipline) or equivalent practical experience. We value analytical thinkers with a strong test-and-learn mindset.
2+ years of experience in a startup or high-growth environment, with hands-on ownership of rapid experiments (e.g., paid social tests, ecommerce conversion improvements, offer/pricing tests, or new-channel pilots).
Demonstrated ability to build and execute a growth plan across digital/social commerce (e.g., Shopify/Amazon, paid social, creator/influencer programs, email/SMS lifecycle) and, as needed, support channel/distribution opportunities through partners.
Strong ownership and bias for action—able to execute independently, move fast with ambiguity, and collaborate effectively across marketing, sales, operations, and product teams.
Strength in experimental design and data-driven decision making, including comfort with core digital metrics (e.g., CAC, ROAS, conversion rate, AOV, retention) and creating clear learnings from tests (Excel/Sheets required; analytics tools a plus).
Curious, resilient, and competitive—motivated by learning quickly, improving through iteration, and delivering measurable growth.
