About the job

AXIOM

Axiom is a design studio meets all-inclusive fabrication shop in Portland, Oregon. We bring together organizations, artists, designers, and builders to create experiences that make you feel something. We create retail displays and environments that immerse people in our client's brands. We customize the atmospheres of 5-star restaurants to rival the food. We modernize hotels or restore them to their original beauty. Whatever our client’s idea or project, we collaborate to make it magic. We’re a friendly team with a professional passion for making interesting things. We design. We engineer. We build. We’re full-service and full of heart.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A MARKETING MANAGER AT AXIOM

You start your day at Axiom with a sense of ownership over something important: the brand itself. As the office comes to life, you’re already scanning the landscape checking social channels, reviewing engagement, and seeing where Axiom’s voice showed up in the world overnight. Marketing here is a team of one, but you’re far from alone. Your role sits at the intersection of sales, leadership, project managers, designers, and outside partners, and your job is to turn everything happening across Axiom into a compelling story.

By mid-morning, you might be on-site with a camera in hand. Capturing progress shots of a project as it takes shape, setting up a time-lapse of a space transformation, or framing the perfect final photograph that will eventually live on the website, in media features, or in a future sales deck. The visuals you create don’t just document the work, they become the foundation of Axiom’s storytelling.

Back at your desk, you shift into editorial mode. You’re thinking months ahead, mapping out the annual marketing calendar and identifying which projects, partnerships, and milestones deserve the spotlight. Maybe you’re coordinating with a PR partner about a potential media feature, connecting with a local organization about a collaboration opportunity, or aligning messaging with a client to ensure the story being told reflects everyone involved. Every decision helps position Axiom’s work where it belongs: in front of the right audience.

In the afternoon, storytelling becomes more strategic. You collaborate with the sales team, transforming archival photos and project details into polished presentations that clearly show who Axiom is and what the company can achieve. You review the website, making sure the brand’s digital home feels fresh, relevant, and reflective of the latest work. You’re always asking the same question: how can we show the world what makes this work remarkable?

Social media is another stage for that story. Throughout the day, you’re shaping Axiom’s voice across platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube. Sometimes that means planning upcoming campaigns or reviewing analytics to see what resonates most. Other times you’re working closely with the Design Studio to create striking visual assets that stop people mid-scroll. You’re not just posting content, you’re building a community and expanding Axiom’s reach.

But just as important as sharing the story externally is strengthening the culture internally. You’re connecting departments, encouraging collaboration, recognizing internal players, and helping everyone understand how their work contributes to the bigger picture. Whether it’s organizing a team event, sharing industry insights, or simply keeping people aligned around the brand’s direction, you help create the environment where great work thrives, even during the busiest moments.

And because culture doesn’t stop at the office doors, you’re always looking outward too. You identify opportunities for Axiom to show up in the broader creative community; events, partnerships, conversations that amplify the brand’s voice and connect it with new audiences. Your relationships with writers, bloggers, influencers, and industry partners help keep Axiom part of the dialogue.

At the end of the day, you’ve done more than manage marketing. You’ve captured the work, shaped the narrative, connected people, and pushed the brand forward. It’s fast-paced, collaborative, and creative and it’s deeply satisfying to know that the stories you tell are helping define where Axiom goes next.

And tomorrow, you’ll do it again, with a camera, a strategy, and a whole company’s story waiting to be told.
