Overview
We are looking for a creative social media expert responsible for leading the social strategy for our brand and our talent presence.This role will own content direction, platform strategy, and overall social growth across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, X and other key channels, with a strong emphasis on high‑quality, social‑first content. The ideal candidate has direct experience working with high‑profile brands, public figures, or celebrities and can translate talent moments into culturally relevant, best‑in‑class social campaigns.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead brand & talent social strategy
- Own the end‑to‑end social media strategy for the brand and talent/founder.
- Define clear goals, content pillars, and platform roles (Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube, X) to drive growth and engagement.
- Translate brand and talent/founder objectives into social‑first plans that are reactive to culture and proactive to key moments.
- Maintain and protect the distinct voice and tone of the talent/founder across all social platforms.
- Identify and extract strong social narratives from long-form content such as interviews, podcasts, conversations, or speaking engagements.
2. Develop content direction & creative vision
- Set the creative direction for high‑quality, social‑first content, including concepts, themes, and storytelling approaches.
- Manage and collaborate with external creative partners including editors, photographers, designers, and freelance creators.
- Ensure all content feels premium, on‑brand, and tailored to the unique tone of each talent and channel.
- Develop social narratives that support thought leadership, translating ideas, perspectives, and key conversations into compelling content.
- Balance platform growth with brand integrity and long-term narrative building.
3. Own platform strategy & publishing
- Build and manage the multi‑platform content calendar, aligning with launches, talent appearances, collaborations, and cultural events.
- Oversee day‑to‑day publishing across channels, ensuring consistent, authentic voice for both brand and talent.
- Optimize posting cadence, formats, and features per platform to maximize reach, engagement, and growth.
- Develop repeatable content workflows, editorial calendars, and production pipelines to support consistent social output.
4. Drive talent‑centered and celebrity‑adjacent campaigns
- Concept and execute social campaigns around high‑profile brands, public figures, or celebrities (drops, press moments, collabs, events).
- Collaborate closely with talent management, PR, and influencer teams to coordinate posts, approvals, and sensitive communications.
- Create social toolkits and guidelines that make it easy for talent and partners to share on their own channels.
- Demonstrate strong editorial judgment and an understanding of reputational considerations when managing public-facing accounts.
5. Oversee high‑quality content production
- Brief and guide production of social‑first photo and video assets, ensuring they are shot and edited for vertical and platform‑native use.
- Maintain a high creative bar across all content, from quick‑turn clips to hero assets.
- Work closely with the specialized social video editor and broader creative team to streamline workflows and uphold quality.
6. Analyze performance & optimize for growth
- Monitor performance across platforms (growth, reach, engagement, retention, conversions) and extract actionable insights.
- Run tests on creative, messaging, and formats, and iterate based on data and audience feedback.
- Regularly report results and recommendations to leadership and talent stakeholders.
7. Build playbooks, processes & collaboration
- Develop and maintain social playbooks and guidelines for brand and talent channels.
- Champion efficient processes with production, PR, and marketing so social is integrated into every major initiative.
- When relevant, support or mentor junior team members and external partners working on social.
Requirements
- 5–8+ years in social media/digital marketing, with clear experience working with high‑profile brands, public figures, or celebrities.
- 1+ year of experience using AI‑powered tools for social media (e.g., content ideation, copy support, image/video tools, or analytics), with a clear point of view on how to use AI without losing brand or talent voice.
- Experience managing or shaping social channels for founders, public figures, or personality-driven brands
- Proven track record driving social growth and engagement through creative, social‑first content.
- Strong hands‑on experience with high‑quality social content production (concepting, briefing, reviewing edits) across Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube, X.
- Based in Los Angeles or deeply familiar with the LA market and its creator/entertainment ecosystem.
- Experience working with premium lifestyle, founders, media, or editorial brands is a strong plus.
