Job Description Summary

The Social Marketing Manager acts as a trusted leader within the Mazda Marketing Team on our social strategy and approach. As a key contributor to the growth of the Marketing team at Mazda, this position acts as a practitioner of exceptional customer experiences within social but cross channel as well. This role manages social media marketing, integration, and execution consistent with the overall integrated marketing plans.

Social Media Platform Management - 40%

  • Manage Mazda's organic channel strategy and execution (inclusive of TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Threads, X, YouTube, and Reddit)
  • Lead the day-to-day management of Mazda's always-on influencer program.
  • Develop and oversee the creation of social strategies, social playbooks, activations and campaign ideas across multiple vehicles and launch initiatives.
  • Manage the conversations on Mazda's social outlets in close partnership with agency community management teams and Mazda's CEC team.
  • Lead strategy sessions and insight into the development of social space for upcoming campaigns, working with agency partners, independent research, and Brand Research team(s) to influence messaging direction.

Strategic Planning and Collaboration - 40%

  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to amplify the reach of our content across all campaigns, events and programs.
  • Shape the ongoing evolution and improvement of our social practice and its products, services and reputation.
  • Manage agency relationship to ensure both Mazda and the agencies are in lockstep across community management, influencer and social initiatives.
  • Develop and guide influencer strategy from initial engagement and outreach to negotiation, content creation, and execution across Mazda brand.
  • Integrate across all teams to be fully aware of all activities and opportunities to further the brand message in the social space (Brand, Retail, Digital, PR, Experiential, CRM, Auto shows, Motorsports, etc.).

Reporting - 20%

  • Develop, analyze and report on monthly social engagement KPIs to provide actionable insights to help inform immediate opportunities as well as longer term strategy.
  • Monitor campaign pacing and performance in line with brand goals and objectives and measure impact of campaigns using quantitative and qualitative metrics.
  • Manage social media content calendar, creative briefs, and posting schedules across all platforms in alignment with priorities and business goals on a monthly basis.
  • Assist in the social media budget and manage within expectations.

Qualifications and Other Requirements:

Education (Minimum):

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Advertising, Business Administration or related field or equivalent combination of education, training and/or work experience in lieu of degree.

Experience:

  • Minimum of three (3) years marketing experience preferably in social media role managing multiple social media accounts and coordinating content.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Advanced understanding of social platforms, audiences and behaviors, and a nuanced perspective about social marketing
  • Ability to apply knowledge of social media to effectively solve a wide variety of challenges and opportunities
  • Expert communication and presentation skills in a wide variety of formats and settings
  • Advanced ability to build relationships across organizations, departments, teams and individuals
  • Experience identifying opportunities for Mazda business growth and developing and executing plans to win
  • Experience in the automotive and premium categories is a plus
  • Knowledge of relationship marketing, products, services and operation
  • Ability to accurately proofread and correct outbound customer Communications
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, environment in a matrixed organization
  • Ability to be organized, stay organized and re-organize where necessary is a critical component of the job
  • Must have the ability to manage multiple tasks and have the ability to balance conflicting demands for resources.
