Strategic Communications Manager

TerraPower’s Strategic Communications Manager will play a central role in shaping and executing storytelling, product marketing, and brand initiatives that support the company’s business priorities, project milestones, and long-term growth. This role will join an integrated, though geographically dispersed, team and craft clear, compelling narratives for internal and external stakeholders; while working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment, consistency and impact. This role joins a growing communications and marketing team and will act as a connective tissue across initiatives – support strategic planning, message development and placement, and high-priority projects.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development of narrative frameworks and strategic campaigns aligned with sharing compelling stories on the positive impact of TerraPower’s technologies. Coordinate these efforts within the overall campaign calendar.

  • Create compelling narratives and messages for target audiences, collaborating with external content creators, ensuring consistency in communication.

  • Support and develop long-term communications planning for major projects, partnerships and corporate initiatives.

  • Foster communications-based collaborations, provide guidance, and ensure team alignment and compliance with TerraPower’s strategic objectives and requirements.

  • Lead the efforts to design and deploy engaging and interactive marketing materials.

  • Manage TerraPower’s company brand, along with technology line brands, including aligning messaging and working with internal and external partners to maintain brand integrity and compliance.

  • Support TerraPower’s Program leads with original content and messaging creation suitable for strategic initiatives and target audiences, ensuring alignment across platforms and distribution channels.

  • Write clear and engaging content that reflects the company’s voice and culture.

  • Support TerraPower’s presence at industry conference shows, representing TerraPower as needed at such events.

  • Attend internal meetings to support communications and marketing efforts.

  • Ensure effective cross-functional collaboration involving in-house and external teams to integrate marketing and branding efforts seamlessly with overall business objectives.

  • Analyze marketing, brand and communications trends, competition, customers and use insights and data analytics to adapt methods for better effectiveness.

  • Support TerraPower’s overall engagement on public relations, media relations, and other external influencers. Support crisis communication activities.

  • Develop internal communications strategies and execution to cultivate an informed and engaged workforce, creating content in alignment with strategic objectives.

  • Support the development and manage the delivery of internal communications across channels – email, intranet, digital signage, company-wide meetings, and newsletters.

  • Maintain relevant marketing and communications policies and procedures.

  • Assist or lead other emergent project initiatives.

Key Qualifications and Skills

  • Minimum 7+ years of experience in marketing and strategic communications.

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field.

  • Proven experience working with multiple disciplines and outsourced teams.

  • Direct experience creating content for traditional and digital marketing channels, social media in a global context.

  • Preference for MARCOM experience in technology, aerospace, energy, innovation and/or first-of-a-kind.

  • Work samples may be requested for applicants selected for interview.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate across various disciplines.

  • Demonstrated ability to create communications that are creative and cognizant of change management best practices.

  • Ability to think strategically, analyze data, and make informed decisions.

  • Track record of developing and implementing successful marketing campaigns in a globally distributed context.

  • Proactive self-starter and team player with strong project execution focus, ability to multi-task, prioritize, meet emergent deadlines and executive a myriad of projects on time.

  • Ability to successfully transport materials, set up booths and staff TerraPower booth at industry events with little direct oversight.

  • Travel required: 10-15%

TerraPower’s technology is controlled for export by various agencies of the U.S. Government. Job details:

Salary Range 9: $102,804 - $154,206

Salary Range 10: $117,922 - $176,833

  • We typically place offers in the lower to middle portion of the range to maintain internal equity and allow room for growth. Any salary offered within the posted salary band is based on market data and commensurate with the selected individual’s qualifications experience. This range is specific to Washington State.
