Job Title: Senior Federal Account Executive

Location: Washington DC

Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Senior Federal Account Executive specializing in the Department of Defense (DoD) and Intelligence Community sectors. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead strategic business development initiatives, cultivate high-level relationships, and drive revenue growth within complex government agencies. As a key player in our team, you will leverage your expertise in federal sales, technical solutions, and account management to deliver innovative offerings that meet the unique needs of national security clients. Duties

  • Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies targeting DoD and Intelligence Community agencies to maximize market penetration and revenue growth.
  • Engage with senior government officials, decision-makers, and stakeholders through warm calling, meetings, and presentations to build strong relationships and identify new business opportunities.
  • Lead end-to-end sales cycles from prospecting and qualification to proposal development, negotiations, and contract closure, ensuring alignment with client requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with marketing teams to tailor messaging and campaigns that resonate with federal clients’ mission-critical needs.
  • Manage existing accounts proactively by providing exceptional account management, ensuring customer satisfaction, and identifying opportunities for upselling or expansion.
  • Utilize CRM tools such as Salesforce to track activities, forecast sales pipelines, analyze trends, and report on progress regularly.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, procurement processes, and emerging technologies within the federal landscape to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking functions to enhance visibility within the DoD and Intelligence sectors.

Skills

  • Proven success in B2B sales within federal markets, especially DoD or Intelligence Community environments.
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to close complex deals effectively while maintaining positive client relationships.
  • Expertise in business development strategies tailored for government agencies combined with a deep understanding of procurement processes.
  • Excellent communication skills—both verbal and written—to articulate technical solutions clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities with the ability to influence stakeholders at various levels of government organizations.
  • Analytical skills to assess client needs, evaluate market opportunities, and develop strategic plans accordingly.
  • Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM platforms for pipeline management and reporting purposes.
  • Knowledge of technology sales including cybersecurity, cloud solutions, or other advanced tech offerings relevant to federal clients.
  • Ability to conduct warm calling effectively as part of proactive outreach efforts aimed at building trust-based relationships. Qualifications

  • 5+ Years of Experience selling into the U.S. Federal Government DoW/IC Community
  • Proven Results
  • Documented success in similar roles, demonstrating the ability to drive sales and grow market share.

  • Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets.
  • Experience in managing long sales cycles and complex deals.

Account Management

  • Experience in managing large accounts and maintaining long-term relationships.
  • Skills in upselling and cross-selling within existing accounts.

Educational Background

  • A background in education, business, or related fields can be advantageous.
  • Advanced degrees or specialized training related to education or sales may be beneficial.
  • Networking Experience
  • Established connections within the DoD/IC sector, including relationships with key influencers and decision-makers.
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage relationships with resellers and distributor partners
  • Background selling through/to FSI’s, Primes/Subs, within the DoD/IC community is a plus
  • Background or experience selling Cybersecurity training or related products is a plus.
  • Familiarity with DoD 8570/8140, PCTE, U.S. Cyber Command, and DCWF is a plus.
