Job Summary
The Sr. Director, Social Media defines and leads KEEN's global social vision — driving brand heat, cultural relevance, and commercial impact across all social media channels and categories. This role is responsible for setting the strategic vision and leading the execution of global social media efforts for Outside Performance/Hybridlife and Utility to elevate brand reputation, build consumer awareness, strengthen engagement and community building with our target fans that translate into commercial long- term growth of KEEN's business. This role plays a key leadership function in shaping the brand narrative and building a social strategy and execution that delivers our vision of becoming known as the most innovative, regenerative and trusted brand in footwear in the world. The Sr. Director leads and builds a best-in-class social media team in the global organization and leads strategy for social teams regionally. With deep expertise in social media, influencer, paid social and storytelling, the Sr. Director partners closely with executive leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to build a modern, globally aligned social eco-system that connects brand, community, athletes, creators and fans.
Essential Functions
Description
Social Media Execution
- Directs the development of engaging and on-brand content across all key platforms (e.g., Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Facebook, LinkedIn and emerging platforms), ensuring quality, tone, and audience fit.
- Oversees monitoring and response protocols, ensuring that engagement practices are timely, brand-consistent, and scalable across platforms.
- Oversees social media influencer relationship strategies, guiding the team in selecting, engaging, and measuring the effectiveness of partnerships that enhance brand affinity and provide measurable business impact.
- Manages agency relationships and partnerships with creators, influencers, athletes and cultural partners
Social Media Strategy
- Provides strategic leadership for the company's social media vision, guiding a comprehensive strategy that drives brand awareness, community engagement, and alignment with broader business goals.
- Establishes and governs a holistic social media strategy balancing brand storytelling with measurable ROI-driven tactics to drive growth across platforms (Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Facebook, Youtube, etc.)
- Guides team efforts to stay ahead of emerging social trends and technologies, ensuring strategies evolve accordingly.
- Drives the global social media influencer / content creator strategy.
- Leads global social organic strategy and its impact and connectivity to paid social media across all regions.
Team Leadership
- Leads and mentors global and regional social media teams, setting priorities, ensuring resource alignment, and fostering professional development across the teams.
- Partners with marketing, HR, legal, and executive teams to ensure communications are consistent, strategically aligned, and effectively support broader company initiatives.
- Advocates for communication excellence across departments, establishing shared standards and practices that elevate internal and external messaging.
Performance Analysis and Reporting
- Oversees the tracking and reporting of social media performance, including, sentiment analysis, reach, engagement, and conversion metrics. Continuously optimize social media strategies based on insights and feedback.
- Provides strategic insights and executive-level performance updates that inform leadership decisions and demonstrate the business impact of influencers and social media efforts on brand objectives.
- Champions continuous improvement by using data-driven insights about engagement, reach, follower growth, and conversions to refine campaign strategies and improve ROI.
Cross Functional Collaboration
- Partners closely with Creative to ensure best in class social media content, Brand Coms to maximize results of brand initiatives and Regional Digital teams to connect to measurable business impact.

Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Digital Media, or related field required.
Master's Degree in Marketing, Communications, or Business preferred.
Minimum ten (10) years experience in social media, marketing, or digital.
Minimum five (5) years in a leadership position, with three (3) years in a senior leadership role.
Any equivalent combination of experience and education which clearly indicates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position may substitute on a year for year basis.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong strategic thinking with the ability to translate business objectives into impactful social media strategies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience in social media, community management, content creation, and storytelling.
- Proven ability to manage and mentor a diverse team of professionals.
- Strong project management skills, with experience handling multiple high-priority projects simultaneously.
- Expertise in social media and digital marketing trends.
- Hands-on approach to Social, with strong daily/weekly operating rhythm and detail orientation
- Proven track record of driving social growth for culturally relevant consumer brands, preferably in footwear, lifestyle, outdoor, sports, or utility
- Experience leading large cultural platforms, partnerships, or communities (sports, entertainment, creators, or fandom-driven ecosystems strongly preferred)
- Deep expertise in platform-specific strategies for TikTok, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, and emerging platforms• Strong analytical skills with proficiency in social listening and analytical tools (e.g. Sprout Social, Brandwatch, Google Analytics)
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization.

- Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to quality and consistency.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage complex situations with a calm and strategic approach.
Travel Required: Yes, up to 20% of the time
Base Salary: $196,650 - $207,575
This range represents the low and high ends of this position's anticipated base salary range. The actual base salary will depend on numerous factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, and location.
