Job Overview

Midtown is looking for a Social Media Manager who will play a key role in bringing our next chapter to life. This role will support the rollout of a new brand visual and verbal strategy—helping to translate brand direction into compelling, platform‑specific storytelling—while also contributing ideas that shape how we express our brand moving forward.

This is a hands-on, creative role for someone who understands that social isn’t just distribution—it’s where brand voice, visuals, and culture come to life in real time.

The marketing team is based in our HQ office in Chicago (3611 N Kedzie Ave.) and supports all club locations.

  • The role is hybrid work-from-home and required to also come in the office in Chicago 2 days per week (Monday/Tuesday)
  • The position is based in the Chicago area and will involve limited travel to Midtown club locations

What You’ll Do

  • Support the implementation of new brand visual and verbal strategies across our social channels.
  • Help evolve how we talk about our brand by translating high-level brand direction into clear, engaging, and emotionally resonant social content.
  • Ensure brand consistency and compliance with our brand guides across content deliverables.
  • Manage a content calendar to execute day-to-day and campaign-based social content
  • Bring brand voice and tone to life through audio, visual and verbal storytelling frameworks, and community engagement across all social communication channels.
  • Collaborate with our designer, photo/videographer, and broader marketing team roles to oversee the creation of visually appealing and multimedia-rich assets.
  • Lead the development of content pillars, narratives, and recurring storylines that reinforce brand positioning.
  • Drive associate-ambassador and influencer strategy programs that enhance brand awareness and affinity for members and prospects.
  • Track and analyze content performance metrics including engagement rates and conversions and make data-driven recommendations to hit KPI’s.
  • Conduct ongoing research and analysis of industry trends, market insights, and competitors to inform and optimize on-brand content strategy.
  • Engage our social community with prompt responses, organize competitions, ask questions, and cultivate relationships.

What We’re Looking For

  • A strong understanding of brand voice, visual identity, and storytelling.
  • Experience translating brand guidelines and campaign briefs into social-first execution.
  • A point of view on how brands should show up on social, and the confidence to contribute ideas.
  • Ability to tailor content to our target audience’s preferences, interests, and nuances.
  • Collaborative mindset and openness to iteration and feedback.
  • Ability to provide leadership and guidance to team members, including managing priorities, timelines, and budgets for content and social media initiatives.
  • Ability to build relationships across our club teams to support brand representation and content creation.

Why This Role Is Unique

This role offers the opportunity to be part of a brand moment—helping to implement a new identity while also influencing how that identity is expressed day to day. You won’t just be executing content; you’ll help define how the brand feels, sounds, and connects with its audience on social.

Required skills and qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or related field.
  • 4+ years of experience as a social media manager.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in social media and analytics tools like Brandwatch to post, monitor content performance, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred skills and qualifications

  • Demonstrated leadership experience, including managing team members, setting priorities, and allocating time and budgets effectively.
  • Knowledge of SEO best practices and keyword research tools.
