Social Media Producer – Content Strategy + Short-Form Video Production

SocialQ Agency is looking for a NYC-based Social Media Producer to lead content strategy and production for a premium aesthetic medical brand.

This role combines creative strategy, short-form content production, and social storytelling. The producer will work directly with the founders / brand team and at times actors / creators to develop and capture engaging educational and authority-building content, whether it’s sit down podcast style, skit based / trend based satire / humor led etc.

You will be responsible for concepting, producing, and capturing short-form content designed for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts.

The ideal candidate is highly comfortable directing talent, running efficient content shoots, and developing repeatable social content series.

This is not a typical social media manager role — we are looking for someone who understands short-form storytelling, audience psychology, and how to translate expertise into engaging video content.

Key ResponsibilitiesContent Strategy & Series Development

• Develop recurring short-form content series aligned with brand goals
• Translate complex medical topics into engaging social content
• Create concepts, hooks, and narrative structures for short-form video
• Identify content opportunities based on social trends and audience behavior

Production & Shoot Execution

• Plan and coordinate content shoots (every ~6 weeks)
• Develop scripts, shot lists, and creative direction
• Direct on-camera talent during filming
• Capture high-quality short-form video optimized for social platforms
• Work with videographers and editors as needed

Platform Expertise

• Produce content optimized for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts
• Understand algorithm-driven content structure and hook mechanics
• Identify formats that drive engagement, saves, and shares

Collaboration & Account Ownership

• Work closely with the SocialQ strategy team
• Collaborate with the brand founder to capture authentic expertise-driven content
• Help translate marketing goals into content concepts

Post-Production Collaboration

• Work with editors to ensure final assets align with creative direction
• Review edits and ensure content is platform-ready

Required Qualifications

• Based in New York City and able to attend in-person shoots
• Strong experience producing short-form video content
• Proven experience with TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts
• Comfortable directing talent and guiding on-camera performance
• Strong storytelling and content concepting skills
• Experience running efficient content shoots

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience producing content for creators, brands, or founders
• Experience in health, wellness, beauty, or aesthetics content
• Understanding of social algorithms and engagement mechanics
• Experience working with influencers or creator-led content

Pay: From $40.00 per hour
