Overview: As the Assistant Vice President (AVP) for Garnier Hair Color, you are the chief architect of the category’s growth and the key driver of the business in the US market. You will hold total category responsibility, defining the long-term strategic vision while ensuring flawless operational execution. This high-visibility leadership role requires a blend of creative intuition and rigorous analytical skill to manage large-scale projects, breakthrough consumer communications, and full P&L accountability. As a Category Head, you will be instrumental in coaching and developing the next generation of marketing leaders within the Garnier brand.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning & Vision:
- Drive and synthesize category research, market trends, and consumer insights to architect the 3-to-5-year category strategy.
- Translate global brand equity into local market win-strategies, ensuring Garnier remains a market leader in Hair Color.
- Lead the annual budget planning and E10/full-year forecasting processes in partnership with Finance.
- Influence the broader Division strategy by representing the Hair Color business in executive-level forums.
Innovation & Product Excellence:
- Own the end-to-end "Go-To-Market" process for multiple large-scale product launches.
- Collaborate with the DMI (Global Marketing) and International teams to ensure the US pipeline is robust and consumer-relevant.
- Lead the development of "breakthrough" new product concepts tailored to the US consumer.
Brand Communications & Digital Acceleration:
- Partner intimately with creative and media agencies to deliver high-impact, data-driven consumer communications.
- Oversee a 360° ecosystem, from traditional media to digital, social, and influencer-led activations that drive "earn-and-own" media.
- Champion "Beauty Tech" initiatives to personalize the consumer journey in the hair color aisle.
Commercial Strategy & P&L Management:
- Hold full P&L accountability for the Hair Color business, optimizing A&P spend to drive top and bottom-line growth.
- Partner with Sales and Commercial teams to develop winning account strategies and present key category innovations to top retailers.
- Ensure accuracy in forecasting and demand planning to minimize OOS and inventory waste.
Leadership & People Development:
- Lead, inspire, and manage a high-performing team of direct reports, fostering a culture of agility and excellence.
- Actively recruit, retain, and mentor top talent to build a strong leadership pipeline for the division.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration between Marketing, Digital, Sales, Finance, and Operations.
Job Requirements:
- Experience: 8+ years of business experience with a proven track record in strategic marketing or category management.
- Industry: Experience in Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) or the Beauty industry is highly preferred; experience specifically within the Hair Color category is a significant plus.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred.
- Analytical Rigor: Expert-level ability to interpret complex quantitative data and translate it into actionable business strategies.
- Entrepreneurial Mindset: A "hands-on" leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and possesses a "test and learn" mentality.
- Communication: Exceptional interpersonal and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels (local and international).
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced PC proficiency (MS Office Suite), particularly Excel and PowerPoint.

Compensation & Benefits:
- Salary Range: $170,400 - $211,500 (Actual compensation will depend on job-related factors including experience, education, and skill level).
