Role Overview
Maven Consulting is redefining how growing brands approach modern public relations. The Director, Brand Strategy manages all activities across Earned, Commerce, and Sponsored Verticals and is responsible for owning client relationships, driving strategy forward, and managing their pod of specialists to ensure flawless execution and measurable results.

Responsibilities BreakdownClient Communications & Strategic Leadership
- Serve as the primary client contact and strategic lead across a designated brand portfolio
- Lead client calls, communications, and project planning with clarity, poise, and precision
- Build strong relationships with founders, CMOs, and marketing leads at client companies
- Interpret client objectives and translate them into clear deliverables and timelines
- Identify key opportunities for visibility, campaign alignment, and PR integration
- Escalate and resolve issues quickly and professionally
- Ensure client satisfaction and retention through proactive support and strategic counsel
Team Management & Pod Oversight
- Manage and mentor 3-5 team members across Earned, Commerce, and Sponsored workstreams
- Assign and monitor priorities across campaigns, launches, and ongoing retainer work
- Coordinate cross-functional pod meetings and support cross-role collaboration
- Review and approve media plans, pitch calendars, reporting, and deliverables
- Ensure brand voice, messaging, and priorities are consistent across all outputs
- Provide ongoing feedback and coaching to pod members
Campaign & Results Execution
- Oversee execution of deliverables across thought leadership, trade/business media, consumer features, affiliate partnerships, and influencer campaigns
- Ensure all client campaigns are aligned to KPIs and Maven’s strategic framework
- Track progress, report on wins, and adjust timelines or tactics as needed
- Drive media moments, launch timelines, seasonal angles, and creative campaign work
Internal Communications & Reporting
- Maintain organized records and workflows using Notion, Slack, and Google Drive
- Share insights, opportunities, and results with the CEO and broader Maven leadership team
- Contribute to internal process development, team culture, and resource planning
Requirements
- Minimum of 7 - 10 years experience in PR, brand strategy, or client services—preferably in an agency or hybrid consulting model
- Strong understanding of integrated PR across earned, commerce, and sponsored landscapes
- Experience managing cross-functional teams and serving as a strategic lead for client accounts
- Excellent communication and presentation skills; natural relationship builder
- Comfortable working with early-stage and scaling brands, especially in the CPG space
- Detail-oriented with exceptional project management and organizational skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
- Proficient in Google Workspace, Muckrack, Podchaser, Notion, Slack, PowerPoint, and project management tools
Pay: $110,000.00 - $110,000.01 per year
