About the Role As an Organic Social Media Intern at ButcherBox you will hone your organic social media knowledge while gaining valuable experience and mentorship from seasoned professionals in the industry. This is a hybrid position, with the expectation that the person in the role will work from our Watertown, MA a minimum of 2 days a week June 2nd - August 14th. Position Overview ButcherBox is seeking a creative, food-obsessed, social-savvy intern to join our Creative and Marketing team for the summer. This role is ideal for someone who lives on organic social, understands creator culture, loves storytelling, and wants hands-on experience in influencer partnerships and brand activation.
You’ll help bring our brand to life across social platforms, support influencer campaigns, and assist in creating engaging, scroll-stopping content that inspires home cooks everywhere. Throughout the duration of the intern’s time our team will be working on new and existing member events, in-person and online brand activations, summertime content creation and influencer partnerships. What You’ll Do
Social Media Support (50%)* Assist in planning and scheduling content across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and emerging platforms.
- Monitor trends, viral formats, and audio to help inform our content strategy.
- Track engagement metrics and help to report on performance.
- Opportunities to contribute to our rising blog.
Influencer Marketing (20%)* Research and identify creators aligned with ButcherBox values.
- Support influencer outreach, communication, and campaign coordination.
- Help track deliverables, timelines, and campaign results.
- Maintain influencer database and performance tracking sheets.
Content Creation (20%)* Assist in concepting short-form video ideas (recipes, lifestyle, UGC-style).
- Support on-set shoots (if local) or remote content coordination.
- Contribute to brainstorming sessions for seasonal campaigns.
Brand Activation (10%)* Event planning support for member activations such as workout classes, member dinners, and beyond!
What We’re Looking For* Currently enrolled in a Marketing, Communications, Media, Art, or related program.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong understanding of social media strategy.
- Familiar with short-form video formats, specifically with an artistic eye for successful visual content.
- Basic video editing experience (CapCut, Adobe Premiere, Final Cut, or similar).
- Excellent written communication skills with organizational ability around multi\u0002channel communication with influencers and partner brands.
- Passion for food, cooking, sustainability, and better sourcing.
Bonus Points* Experience working with influencers or brands.
- Photography or food styling experience.
- Knowledge of analytics tools and social reporting.
- Interest in written blogging.
Compensation: $22/hour
