About the job
We are looking for Education Marketing Manager to lead education marketing strategy and execution for Hal Leonard’s education portfolio, with a focus on growing the EDU community and relaunching the Essential Elements Music Class ecosystem. This role owns marketing efforts across print and digital education products, content strategy, ambassador and influencer collaboration, and cross-functional clinic initiatives. The position works closely with Editorial, Sales, Events, and global partners to drive awareness, engagement, and revenue growth within the education segment.
Key responsibilities
Marketing
- Lead marketing efforts for core pedagogical sheet music series, including Essential Elements, Flex-Pops, and related education titles and digital products Essential Elements Music Class, Essential Elements Interactive.
- Develop and execute integrated marketing campaigns across email, social, web, paid ads, and automations
- Maintain and execute an education-focused marketing calendar across email, social, and web channels
- Maintain and optimize Essential Elements web pages across Hal Leonard sites and SheetMusicPlus
- Attend trade shows and industry events to promote EDU products and support ambassadors on-site
Content & Community Development
- Own content strategy and execution for the Hal Leonard Education Blog, positioning it as a key destination for music educators
- Develop a long-term education community strategy to grow engagement with educators, writers, and partners
- Collaborate with writers, ambassadors, and influencers to create blog content, social videos, and promotional assets
Ambassador, Influencer Strategy
- Build and manage an ambassador program that establishes strong relationships with key writers and partners
- Position ambassadors as the public-facing representatives of Hal Leonard Education
- Collaborate with writers, ambassadors, and influencers to promote education titles through in-person and virtual clinics
- Work with Editorial and Sales teams to define education strategies, maintain calendars, and manage budgets
Cross-Functional & Global Collaboration
- Collaborate with the Hal Leonard Europe team on global education products
- Work closely with Editorial, Sales, Events, and Digital teams to align messaging, timing, and go-to-market plans
Required experience
- Background in school music education as a teacher or musician.
- Experience in music, education, or EDU-focused marketing
- Demonstrated experience in project coordination or project management
- Strong email composition skills, including writing promotional, educational, and automated campaign emails
- Self-starter mindset with the ability to manage varied projects
- Proven experience communicating and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders
- Demonstrated leadership skills, including guiding cross-functional initiatives and ambassador relationships
Must have
- Experience with media planning and campaign execution
- Solid knowledge of social media marketing, including platform strategy, content planning, and performance evaluation
Pay: Up to $70,000.00 per year
