About the job

CTP is looking for a PR Account Director.

We love working with talented people, and we continually look for compassionate co-workers with a collaborative spirit to add to our community. Our work moves quickly and we’re great at coming together to find creative solutions for our clients' most interesting problems. CTP’s wide array of work can be seen here.

We work with organizations shaping consequential issues across clean energy, healthcare, community banking, and social enterprise. Our teams move quickly, think strategically, and hold a high bar for execution. We believe strong communications start with clarity of purpose and succeed through disciplined storytelling, smart positioning, and focused media engagement.

We’re seeking a passionate PR professional with 7–8 years of experience, who is ready to lead high-impact communications programs and serve as a trusted partner to clients. In this role, you will manage day-to-day account leadership across multiple sectors, working directly with senior decision-makers to translate business and organizational objectives into clear, measurable communications strategies.

You’ll guide integrated, earned-first campaigns from strategy through execution, oversee programs, and help strengthen CTP’s visibility through thought leadership and agency PR efforts. This role requires sharp media instincts, strong writing skills, sound judgment, and a genuine interest in the industries we serve.

In this role, CTP is looking for someone who will contribute to our agency’s success by:

  • Serving as a strategic lead across accounts, providing clear and confident client counsel
  • Helping to plan and drive the agency’s own communications and marketing program promoting CTP, using earned, owned and shared approaches
  • Developing communications plans grounded in defined goals, target audiences, key messaging, and measurable outcomes
  • Managing multiple accounts with close attention to timelines, budgets, and quality control
  • Leading proactive media strategies that prioritize relevance, credibility, and impact
  • Building and sustaining strong relationships with journalists and industry influencers
  • Translating complex industry and policy issues into accessible, compelling narratives
  • Mentoring junior staff and elevating the overall quality of work across teams
  • Contributing to CTP’s own visibility through content development, thought leadership, and earned media

This is an opportunity for a communications professional ready to deepen their strategic voice, expand client leadership responsibilities, and help shape meaningful work across mission-driven sectors.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to commute to our Boston office 2x/week (Tuesday and Wednesday).
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience).
  • 7–8 years of experience in public relations or strategic communications, ideally within an agency environment.
  • Demonstrated success leading strategic communications programs with measurable results.
  • Strong media relations experience, including development of story angles and securing high-quality coverage.
  • Excellent writing skills across formats, including messaging documents, press materials, executive communications, and strategic plans.
  • Experience managing client relationships, budgets, and internal teams in a fast-paced setting.
  • Ability to think strategically before moving to tactics — consistently defining objectives, audiences, and persuasive messaging frameworks.
  • Interest in and willingness to build expertise across clean energy, healthcare, community banking, and social enterprise.
  • Strong organizational skills and comfort managing multiple priorities while maintaining high standards of quality.
  • Comfortable in using emerging tools, including AI-enabled research and writing support, to enhance strategy development, media analysis, and content creation in thoughtful, ethical, and client-appropriate ways

Please note, all employees are required to be in-office at our CTP location on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

The salary range for these roles is $90,000 – $110,000 annually. Compensation is based on a variety of factors, including relevant experience, skills, internal equity, and market data. In addition to base salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package and a collaborative, supportive culture focused on delivering breakthrough ideas for our clients.

CTP is an equal opportunity employer committed to building and maintaining an inclusive workplace. If you require a reasonable accommodation to complete any part of the application process or in your work once hired, please contact our Human Resources Department.

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States. We do not offer visa sponsorship for this role.
