Marketing Assistant (8341MK, M&C Pro 1, Marketing Generalist)

This is a temporary Marketing Assistant position for the University of Minnesota Press. This position is expected to last through December 2026.

Responsibilities:

Copywriting (50%)

  • Send materials to copywriters and coordinate descriptive text editing and approval with editors and authors.
  • Solicit and edit book endorsements.
  • Prepare and route back cover copy.

Promotions (30%)

  • Implement NetGalley and Goodreads listings, giveaways, and promotions.
  • Produce print and digital advance reading copies for publicity.
  • Research and pitch IG influencers to promote books and authors.
  • Journal ad production

Administrative (20%)

  • Send marketing plans and marketing tip sheets to authors and route communications to department members.
  • Enter and maintain all descriptive copy and blurbs in MP and Title Management.
  • Check Presswide email account and route to appropriate staff.
  • Place comp copy orders upon request.

Other duties, as assigned.
