About the role
The Director of Media & Ad Operations owns the financial, analytical, and operational backbone of paid growth at Ritual. You will be accountable for media efficiency, budget allocation, and channel testing strategy across all paid acquisition and upper-funnel investments. This role is a great fit for someone who thrives in a technical, data-mature environment and enjoys the challenge of determining where incremental dollars should be deployed to drive long-term growth. You will work in tight partnership with the VP of Growth and Senior Director of Data & Analytics to oversee performance across digital, influencer, and emerging channels.
What you'll do
Lead Investment Strategy: Own the total paid media strategy, including annual and quarterly budget allocation, CAC targets, and spend pacing across Meta, Google, TikTok, TV, and more.
Drive Capital Allocation: Act as the final decision-maker on media efficiency tradeoffs, determining where to deploy incremental capital to balance scale and efficiency.
Architect Experimentation: Own the incrementality and experimentation roadmap across all channels, formats, and tactics to answer critical business questions. Partner with Creative and Brand teams to build a high-velocity testing framework, ensuring quantitative performance data directly informs qualitative creative strategy.
Partner with Finance & Data: Collaborate to forecast performance, model scenarios, and define measurement frameworks for test design and expansion.
Optimize the Portfolio: Synthesize complex datasets into clear narratives and actionable plans that drive cross-channel optimization.

What you'll need
Experience at Scale: 7+ years in paid media, growth marketing, or media operations at a high-growth DTC or consumer brand.
Budget Ownership: Proven experience managing large, multi-channel paid media budgets.
DTC Fluency: Deep understanding of direct-to-consumer business metrics, including CPA, LTV, and marginal efficiency.
Technical Proficiency: Strong Excel/Sheets skills and comfort working with large datasets to drive decision-making.
Measurement Acumen: Experience defining measurement frameworks and leading incrementality testing.

Compensation
- Pay Range: $148,000 - $190,000
- Your base salary is one part of your total compensation package. The salary range represents the entire compensation range for this position. Exact compensation will depend on a number of factors, which may include the successful candidate's skills, level, years of experience, technical expertise, and other qualifications. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. This role is also eligible for equity + generous benefits + 401k + unlimited PTO etc - see our list of perks/ benefits below.
