East Coast Cannabis is looking for a creative, organized, and outgoing Social Media Coordinator to help bring our brand to life online. This part-time role is perfect for someone who thrives on storytelling, loves engaging with community, and enjoys capturing authentic moments across retail, cultivation, and events.
As our Social Media Coordinator, you’ll focus on creating compelling content, managing daily interactions, and ensuring our brand voice and reputation are consistently upheld across all online platforms.

What You’ll Do
Content Creation & Management
- Develop and execute creative content ideas aligned with brand strategy (photos, videos, graphics, reels, stories)
- Capture video and photo assets across ECC facilities and at company-sponsored events.
- Create and post digital assets such as graphics, promotional posts, and story templates on ECC’s social media accounts.
- Maintain a consistent posting schedule, working closely with the Community Engagement & Events Strategist and the Director of Sales & Marketing.
- Track and report content performance (reach, engagement, shares, saves, etc.).
Community Management
- Respond to direct messages and comments promptly, ensuring brand voice is maintained.
- Monitor and engage with partner, customer, and industry accounts to foster relationships.
- Proactively identify opportunities to join trending conversations relevant to our audience.
- Flag and escalate sensitive conversations, complaints, or PR risks immediately.
Page Monitoring & Compliance
- Check the page 3x daily (morning, afternoon, evening), unless otherwise scheduled to leadership.
- Respond to time-sensitive issues such as negative comments or questions.
- If posts or stories are removed by the platform, appeal the decision immediately and notify leadership.
- Monitor for fake accounts, spam comments, or brand misuse and take action (report, block, notify).
Analytics & Growth
- Track follower growth, engagement rates, and content performance metrics.
- Provide a weekly summary of activity, wins, challenges, and areas for improvement.
- Suggest strategies to increase reach (collaborations, hashtags, trends, partnerships).
Administrative & Collaboration
- Attend weekly check-ins with the Community Engagement & Events Strategist to align on content priorities and campaigns.
- Meet bi-weekly with leadership to discuss content calendar and new strategies.
- Maintain an organized content calendar.
- Coordinate with leadership to gather updates, product launches, and event promotions.
- Stay updated on platform changes, new features, and industry best practices.
Additional Ways You’ll Contribute
- Assist with influencer or partner collaborations (outreach, communication, content coordination).
- Contribute to creative brainstorming sessions for campaigns and seasonal initiatives.
- Maintain digital asset libraries (photos, videos, templates) for team-wide use.
- Research competitors’ social media activity to identify trends and opportunities.
- Support photography/videography needs.
- Help test and adopt new tools or platforms that may benefit ECC’s digital presence.
What You Bring
- Proficiency using Instagram, Facebook, and Meta Business Suite.
- Willingness to learn technical skills and proficiencies on additional social media platforms such as LinkedIn and X.
- Ability to articulate product specifications.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and consistency across platforms.
- Must obtain and maintain the Maine Office of Cannabis Policy Individual Identification Card (IIC).
- An outgoing personality with strong organization and creative energy.
Scheduling & Availability
- Approximately 20 hours per week.
- Flexible scheduling with required platform check-ins 3x daily.
- Clear and timely communication with leadership.
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold brand guidelines at all times.
Work Environment
- Indoor, climate-controlled office setting.
- Restaurants, event venues, outdoor settings, and on the road.
- The working environment will change depending on content and event schedules.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
- Must be able to work comfortably in tight spaces with respect to co-workers’ comfort zones at times.
Travel
- Travel to various locations and events as needed for content creation.
- Mileage reimbursement will be provided for travel related to content creation and events.
- The corporate office at 428 Harold L. Dow Highway in Eliot, Maine is considered the primary working location for this role. Pay range: $18 per hour
Preferred seniority
Overall: Mid-level (2-5 years) or higher
Cannabis industry: Some (1-2 years) or higher
