Position Overview
The Director, B2B Communications is a strategically minded communications leader who knows how to speak the language of business buyers and compel them to act. Reporting to the Global Head of Communications, this individual owns the communications strategy that drives Mobility Global's presence, credibility, and pipeline within its business-to-business markets. From industry analyst relationships and trade media to client-facing content and sales enablement messaging, this role sits at the critical intersection of marketing, communications, and revenue growth. This is not a role for order-takers, it's for a confident communicator who understands that in B2B, trust is the ultimate differentiator and every touchpoint is a chance to earn it.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive B2B communications strategy that builds brand authority, supports pipeline generation, and strengthens relationships with key business audiences including clients, prospects, partners, and industry influencers.
- Own trade and industry media relations, cultivating relationships with sector-specific journalists, editors, and publications to secure consistent, credibility-building coverage.
- Lead the development of B2B thought leadership content including white papers, case studies, bylined articles, conference presentations, and industry reports that position us as a category leader.
- Partner closely with Sales and Business Development to develop client-facing messaging, pitch narratives, RFP content, and sales enablement materials that directly support revenue goals.
- Build and manage an industry analyst relations program, ensuring [Company Name] is well-represented in analyst research, reports, and briefings relevant to its market.
- Develop account-based communications strategies that support marketing and sales efforts targeting high-value clients and prospects.
- Ensure B2B messaging is consistently aligned with overall brand positioning while being specifically tailored to the priorities, pain points, and language of business decision-makers.
- Manage external agency relationships, editorial vendors, and content partners to scale B2B communications output with efficiency and quality.
- Track and report on communications KPIs tied to business outcomes, including share of voice, media reach, content engagement, and pipeline influence.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Strategy, Product, and Sales teams to ensure B2B communications are integrated, timely, and strategically sequenced.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Business, or a related field required; advanced degree a plus.
- 10+ years of experience in B2B communications, corporate communications, or B2B marketing, with a demonstrated track record of driving business impact through communications strategy.
- Deep understanding of the B2B buyer journey and how communications strategy influences awareness, consideration, and decision-making at the enterprise level.
- Proven experience in trade media relations, industry analyst relations, and B2B content development.
- Strong writing and messaging skills with the ability to translate complex solutions and value propositions into clear, compelling narratives for business audiences.
- Experience partnering with Sales and Business Development teams to develop revenue-supporting communications and content.
- Highly collaborative with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with B2B marketing and communications tools including media monitoring platforms, CRM systems, and content management platforms.
What Success Looks Like
- We are recognized as a credible, authoritative voice in its target industries, consistently featured in the publications and conversations its buyers trust most.
- Sales teams are equipped with sharp, differentiated messaging that shortens cycles and opens doors.
- Thought leadership content generates measurable engagement from target accounts and drives qualified pipeline.
- Industry analysts and influencers are familiar with [Company Name]'s story and include it in relevant conversations and research.
- B2B communications is viewed as a strategic revenue enabler, not just a content production function.
