Manager of Culture Marketing

Kansas City Chiefs

Full-time

Kansas City, MO, US

About the job

Position: Manager of Culture Marketing

Department: Marketing

Reports to: Director of Marketing, Culture and Creators

Status: Full-Time, Exempt

JOB SUMMARY:

Are you chronically online? A pop culture guru? Do you love dissecting content and plotting how you’d make it better?

The Kansas City Chiefs are seeking a Manager of Culture Marketing to support our passion point brand marketing initiatives and amplify our brand presence amongst our national fanbase. This highly creative position will play a pivotal role in shaping the legacy of the Chiefs’ national footprint. We’re looking for a passionate marketer who can build strategy, creative campaigns, and organizational excitement to drive impact for the brand. If you see culture before it trends, this could be the role for you.

We’re not looking for someone who “posts about trends.” We’re looking for someone who can turn cultural signals into scalable brand platforms, build programming that travels beyond football, and position the Chiefs as a year-round lifestyle brand.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead Culture Marketing:
  • Monitor cultural movements across sports, music, fashion, internet culture, gaming, and emerging platforms, and proactively identify brand opportunities before they peak.
  • Translate insights into campaign ideas, content franchises, partnerships, and experiential moments.
  • Build culturally resonant programming across tentpole moments (e.g., Black History Month, Hispanic Heritage Month) with depth, community integration, and measurable impact — not just surface-level activation.
  • Support Athlete & Influencer Marketing:
  • Develop programming that drives earned media, creator integration, and organic cultural relevance.
  • Collaborate with Communications and Player Engagement to create moments that benefit the athlete, the brand, and the fan community.
  • Identify cultural alignment opportunities between players and key partners or tastemakers.
  • Assist our Influencer Marketing lead in the continued building of our influencer strategy, identifying and engaging with talent and content creators who align with the Chiefs' values and target demographics.
  • Strategic Planning and Execution:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop annual marketing plans that integrate culture, athlete, and influencer marketing initiatives.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitive landscape, and fan insights to adapt strategies and tactics accordingly.
  • Track and report on key performance metrics to assess the impact and ROI of marketing efforts.
  • Team Support:
  • Provide support and guidance to colleagues within the organization.
  • Assist in delegating tasks, setting clear objectives, and providing ongoing feedback to support professional growth and development.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture that encourages creativity, innovation, and accountability.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in marketing.
  • You think in IP, franchises, and long-term brand equity — not just campaign cycles.
  • Deeply fluent in internet culture, emerging platforms, and fandom communities.
  • Have an affinity for cultural passion points (food, fashion, music, gaming).
  • High proficiency with presentation-building within PowerPoint.
  • Proven track record of supporting successful marketing campaigns, preferably in the sports or entertainment industry.
  • Experience working effectively with both outside agencies and internal marketing teams.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and project management skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and drive results under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to attend game days on the weekends during the season.

The Kansas City Chiefs are a global cultural brand. This role will help define how we show up in music, fashion, and community spaces in ways that are authentic, scalable, and lasting.

If you believe culture marketing isn’t a tactic, we want to hear from you.
